Role Summary/Purpose
The Purchasing Assistant supports the execution of direct procurement activities within GE Aerospace, ensuring accurate processing of purchase orders, effective supplier communication, and proper handling of import-related tasks. This role helps maintain continuity of supply and supports internal customers by following established sourcing and compliance standards.
Essential Responsibilities
• Execute and monitor purchase orders, ensuring alignment with specifications, delivery requirements, and GE Aerospace procedures.
• Perform supplier registration and maintain supplier information in approved systems.
• Assist with quotation requests and basic supplier comparisons to support competitive sourcing.
• Maintain routine communication with suppliers to follow up on deliveries, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Quality, Logistics/Import) to address operational needs related to purchased materials.
• Support import activities, including reviewing documentation, shipment authorization, and coordination with logistics teams.
• Contribute to cost‑improvement or productivity initiatives under guidance from the Sourcing team.
• Ensure adherence to GE Aerospace policies, compliance requirements, and data accuracy within procurement systems.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Economics, Production Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or administrative support (internship experience acceptable).
• Fundamental analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• English: Intermediate (desired).
• Três Rios Site.
