Senior Technical Officer - Electrical and Instrumentation

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Young, NSW on a full-time permanent basis. This is a residential role and is not FIFO.

Reporting to the Team Leader - Electrical, you will play a key role in the safe and reliable operation, maintenance and improvement of APA's gas transmission and associated facilities. Working as part of a close-knit regional team, you will undertake electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities, fault finding, inspections and project support to ensure the ongoing integrity and performance of critical energy infrastructure.

We are seeking a team-focused individual with a strong safety mindset and a willingness to learn. While instrumentation and hazardous area experience are highly regarded, we are prepared to invest in training and development for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment across APA assets.
• Conduct fault finding, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities to ensure reliable operation of facilities.
• Complete inspections, maintenance records and compliance documentation to required standards.
• Support capital projects, outages and improvement initiatives as required.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance and operational excellence.
• Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled operations team and participate in an on-call roster as required.

Your Background

• Current unrestricted Electrical Licence (essential).
• Experience working with industrial electrical systems; instrumentation experience is advantageous.
• Hazardous Area (EEHA) qualifications and experience are highly regarded.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance.
• Team player with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop, with training and development opportunities available for the right person.
