Job Description:

About the role:

• Drive the future technology strategy of Sun Life Hong Kong, including the establishment of a purpose-built technology stack to support the growing business segments across Greater China.
• Establish a high-performing architecture team with a mix of skills across Chinese and International cloud platforms, infrastructure and business applications.
• Define enterprise architecture and technology strategy by translating business strategy, market developments and emerging technology into target-state blueprints, standards, principles and multi-year roadmaps.
• Own technology-stack planning and modernisation across core platforms, digital, data, cloud, integration, infrastructure, cyber security and artificial intelligence, rationalising platforms and sequencing investment for resilience, scalability and value.
• Govern architecture, compliance and technology risk by directing architecture reviews and approvals, embedding security, privacy, data-residency, outsourcing, regulatory and operational-readiness requirements, and managing justified exceptions.
• Build organisational capability and stakeholder alignment by leading architecture resources, developing talent and engineering practices, engaging vendors and industry peers, and influencing senior business, regional, corporate HQ and stakeholders.

 

Skills & Experience

• Expert knowledge of enterprise, solution, application, data, integration, cloud, infrastructure and security architecture.
• Strong understanding of insurance business models, digital distribution, core policy administration and technology-enabled operating models.
• Demonstrated capability in technology strategy, portfolio roadmapping, platform rationalisation, multi-cloud strategy, application modernisation, artificial intelligence and engineering governance.
• Sound knowledge of architecture governance, cyber security, privacy, data residency, third-party risk, material outsourcing, operational resilience, audit and regulatory-compliance requirements.
• Experience operating across Hong Kong, regional and corporate HQ, including cross-border delivery and stakeholder management.
