Role overview
DUAL North America is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Corporate Accounting team in San Diego and gain hands-on experience of accounting within a professional environment.

As part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to put your accounting knowledge into practice and develop an understanding of how the finance function supports a growing business. You’ll gain exposure to both general ledger and accounts payable activities, contributing to journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, variance analysis and data management.

You’ll also have the opportunity to support process improvement initiatives, work alongside experienced accounting professionals and see how different areas of the finance function come together. Throughout the internship, you’ll build practical accounting skills, develop your professional experience and contribute to the day-to-day work of the team.

Role responsibilities

• Support the preparation of routine journal entries and gain experience applying accounting principles in practice.
• Support month-end activities, including helping to reconcile balance sheet accounts and check that financial records are accurate.
• Help track accruals and prepaid expenses as part of the monthly accounting cycle.
• Review and code vendor invoices to support accurate and timely processing.
• Support payment activities and help ensure incoming payments are recorded correctly.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and help investigate any outstanding or unmatched items.
• Organize and maintain accounting records, files and supporting documentation.
• Help document accounting processes and identify opportunities to make day-to-day processes more efficient.
• Support audit activities by helping gather and organize requested information and documentation.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Corporate Accounting team as needed.

 

Key requirements

• Currently studying towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field (graduating between December 2027 and May 2028)
• An understanding of core accounting principles, including debits and credits and accrual accounting.
• Able to organize and prioritize tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to communicate clearly and build positive working relationships with a range of people.
• Comfortable working collaboratively and contributing as part of a team.
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel and willing to develop your skills further during the internship.
• Able to follow established processes and procedures, manage different tasks and work towards agreed deadlines.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, with occasional movement in the office to access cabinets and equipment
