Description
Location: Accrington, Lancashire
Salary: £29,000 – £36,550 per annum, plus enhanced sleep-in pay averaging £3,300 per annum 💷
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 2 x 14-hour shifts (8am – 10pm), each followed by a sleep-in, then 3 days off, on a 5-week rolling rota. Overtime available.
Employment Type: Full-time
Sleep-ins: One sleep-in after each shift, paid at an enhanced rate
Service: Therapeutic Children's Home
Service Users: Children and young people with emotional and challenging behaviours (EBD)
Qualifications Required: Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (completed or actively working towards). Driving licence required, with access to your own vehicle for work-related travel desirable.
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in children's residential care (essential)

Who we are looking for: 🌟
A vibrant, energetic and caring Senior who wants to be part of something genuinely rewarding. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering care and support to children and young people with emotional and challenging behaviours, helping them reach their potential in line with ordinary life principles. You will supervise and direct staff in the managers' absence, delegate to and monitor Residential Child Care Workers, act as Key Worker for designated young people, contribute to assessments, care plans and reviews, help develop strategies for managing challenging behaviour, support young people's social, educational and recreational activities, administer medication (following training), keep thorough records, work with external agencies and support the induction of new colleagues.
You will bring the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong knowledge of emotional and challenging behaviours and/or learning difficulties, a respectful, person-centred approach, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to engage well with young people, families, colleagues and other professionals, along with a commitment to ongoing development. Self-motivation, adaptability, integrity and a commitment to equality and diversity are essential; a flexible, innovative approach, familiarity with care planning systems and strong decision-making skills are desirable.
