Description
Team Leader – Residential Childcare
Location: Blackpool or Durham
Salary: £35,796 – £36,948 (including sleep-ins)
Hourly Rate: £15.00 – £15.60
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 1 on, 2 off rota | 8:00am – 11:00pm followed by a sleep-in (11:00pm – 8:00am)
Employment Type: Permanent
Sleep-ins: Approximately 11 per month | £53 per sleep
Service: Children's Home
Service Users: Young people aged 8–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Qualifications Required: Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working towards
Experience Required: Experience working within an Ofsted Registered Children's Home. Previous Team Leader experience is preferred, with higher salary grades available for those with 1–2 years' experience in a Team Leader role.

The Home
Our client operates family-oriented children's homes supporting young people aged 8–17 who have experienced adversity and require stability, security and positive role models. The homes provide a safe, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and resilience through structured care, education and outdoor activities.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Team Leader who is passionate about helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes.
You'll lead by example, supporting Residential Childcare Workers while helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment. Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you'll play an important role in ensuring high-quality care is delivered every day.
We're looking for someone who has:

Experience working within an Ofsted Registered Children's Home.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Excellent recording and report writing abilities.

A calm, resilient and child-centred approach.

The ability to motivate colleagues and positively influence young people.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

A willingness to participate in outdoor activities, education support and daily routines.

Progression
Salary progression is linked to your experience as a Team Leader:

Grade 1: New Team Leader or working towards/holding Level 3 or 4 qualification.

Grade 2: 1 year's experience as a Team Leader.

Grade 3: 2 years' experience as a Team Leader.
Training / Qualifications

Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence or actively working towards obtaining one.

Minimum age of 21.

Willingness to work sleep-ins, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Passion for supporting children and young people.
Individuals with only CQC experience and / or who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home will not be considered.
