Job Title:
Senior Residential Practitioner

Location:
📍 South Tyneside

Salary:
💷 £36,160 per annum (based on 160 hours per month and 11 sleep-ins per month)

💷 £43,416 per annum (based on 204 hours per month and 11 sleeps)

Hourly Rate:
💷 £14.50 per hour

Working Hours / Shift Pattern:
160-hour or 204-hour contract available

Employment Type:
Permanent

Sleep-ins:
🛏️ Approximately 11 sleep-ins per month at £60 per sleep

Service:
🏡 Children's Residential Home

Service Users:
Children and Young People aged 5–18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements.

Qualifications Required:
Level 3 Diploma in Social Care (0–18 years) preferred.
Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care accepted, with completion of three Residential Childcare units.
Candidates without a relevant qualification will be required to complete the full Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Senior or Team Leader role. Previous Residential Childcare experience is desirable; however, Senior or Team Leader experience within other Health & Social Care settings will also be considered.

As a Senior Residential Practitioner, you will lead shifts, provide first-line leadership and supervision to Residential Practitioners, and ensure children receive the highest standard of care. You will report directly to the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager and play a key role in maintaining high-quality practice throughout the home.

  • Lead and oversee shifts within the home.

  • Provide supervision and support to Residential Practitioners.

  • Safeguard children and young people at all times.

  • Support the implementation of Care Plans and Risk Assessments.

  • Work in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Quality Standards.

  • Promote positive practice and challenge poor standards where necessary.

  • Support and develop members of the staff team.

  • Work collaboratively with the management team.

  • Deputise in the absence of the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager when required.

  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and external professionals.

  • Be willing to undertake ongoing training and professional development.
