Devereux is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential services, community living, day programs, and clinical services for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia and other cognitive disorders. 

 

As a Maintenance & Facilities Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds this includes mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, weed abatement, irrigation repairs and maintaining equipment.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • General landscaping and groundskeeping
  • Minor to moderate repairs of on/off campus buildings, security systems, vehicles, purchasing, and monthly building inspections.
  • Submitting regular reports to supervisor on work orders and completion status
  • Educating employees on basic maintenance and repairs as assigned
  • Serving as a member of the Disaster response team

 

This is a FT position in the Goleta/Santa Barbara/Lompoc area. Must be comfortable commuting to different facilities using a company vehicle.

The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm with some flexibility

Compensation is $22-$24/hr DOE

Qualifications

Must be able to pass thorough background checks & Livescan.

 

EDUCATION: High School Diploma not required but highly preferred, one or more years of specialized training preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience performing in a related field highly preferred. Proficient in Word and Outlook email. Must have a valid California Driver License and a clean driving record.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires significant amounts of standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Often required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Regularly requires lifting/moving weight of up to 25lbs, frequently lift/move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus.

 

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Occasionally works

near moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate.
