Description: Theoretical research underpinnings of learning a second language through content-based approaches and analysis of empirical studies undertaken in a wide range of immersion and other content-based L2 classrooms.
This course is not Team Taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education:
1.PhD (in exceptional cases, PhD candidates and master teachers with an MA with extensive relevant experience will be considered);
Experience:
1.Expert knowledge of:
- Theories underlying L2 learning and teaching
- Research in immersion and content-based instruction (CBI)
- Instructional approaches to CBI and impacts on language development
2.Successful experience teaching similar courses at the graduate level
3.Experience in L2 instruction
Other:
1.Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion.
2.Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.
3.Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset.
5.Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital and pedagogical teaching and learning tools
