Accounting / Tax Manager – Group Level (BE, NL & LU)

An international organization is seeking an Accounting and Tax Manager at Group level to support financial operations across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

In this role, you will work closely with the Group Finance Manager to oversee general accounting and tax activities, ensure accurate general ledger management, and support the monthly closing process. You will also play a key role in improving procedures, strengthening financial controls, and managing the consolidation process in line with statutory requirements and internal group policies.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting Operations

• Oversee General Ledger activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with professional accounting standards and Local GAAP.

• Ensure accounting entries comply with applicable local accounting standards.

• Supervise the maintenance of company general ledgers and perform necessary reconciliations.

• Ensure correct classification and recording of all financial transactions and expenditures.

• Conduct detailed analyses and reviews of general ledger accounts.

• Safeguard the integrity of financial systems and ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting.

• Supervise the Accounts Payable process, including payment planning and monitoring of aged accounts.

• Monitor Accounts Receivable processes and collaborate with the credit controller on follow-up activities.

• Provide support to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, authorities, and operational teams.

Tax

• Prepare and calculate monthly and annual VAT returns.

• Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.

• Assist in preparing the annual corporate income tax return and respond to ad hoc tax requests.

Reporting & Analysis

• Support the preparation of financial reports.

• Prepare the annual statutory accounts for Belgium.

• Coordinate with external or local accountants for statutory accounts and compliance in the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

• Analyze existing systems and processes to ensure accurate recording and reporting of accounting data.

Team Supervision

• Supervise and support the accounting team.

• Participate in recruitment, development, and training of team members.

Profile Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Audit, or Consultancy.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

• A change-oriented mindset with a focus on improving processes and procedures.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Fluency in French and Dutch; English is a plus.

• Knowledge of Navision / Business Central is an advantage.

• Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
