The Forensic Accounting practice sits within Davies Forensics and supports clients on complex financial loss, business interruption, disputes, investigations, litigation support, fraud, valuation and expert witness matters.
The Opportunity
The Opportunity
Davies is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to serve as the senior operating leader for its Forensic Accounting practice for EMEA and APAC regions.
The COO will report to the Global CEO - Forensic Accounting & Engineering and will work alongside COO’s in the Americas for both Forensic Accounting and the Forensic Engineering practice.
The COO will be responsible for driving operational performance, integration, resource effectiveness, reporting discipline, talent platform building and scalable execution across the Forensic Accounting business.
Ultimate P&L accountability will remain with the Global CEO of Forensics. The COO will be accountable for enabling the operating model, management cadence and execution discipline required to support growth, profitability and client service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
EMEA and APAC Practice Operations
- Lead global operating performance across the Forensic Accounting practice.
- Create a consistent management cadence across regions, practices and support functions.
- Drive operating discipline around utilization, delivery efficiency, resource deployment and accountability.
- Support regional leaders in translating growth priorities into executable operating plans.
Integration and Growth Enablement
- Lead operational integration of acquired forensic accounting teams, lateral hires and new practice groups.
- Develop repeatable integration frameworks, onboarding processes and post-close operating playbooks.
- Partner with the Forensics CEO on operational due diligence, integration priorities and execution risk.
- Help ensure acquired or recruited teams are integrated commercially, culturally and operationally.
Professional Services Performance
- Improve visibility and discipline around utilization, chargeability, leverage, margin and productivity.
- Partner with Finance to strengthen management information and practice-level performance reporting.
- Support cross-border resourcing and capacity planning to optimize expert deployment.
- Identify opportunities to improve operating leverage while preserving quality and client service standards.
Talent Platform Building
- Partner with HR and practice leadership to build a scalable talent platform for EMEA and APAC forensic growth.
- Support workforce planning, leadership development, succession planning and retention of key experts.
- Improve onboarding, mobility, development and collaboration across regions.
- Help create an operating environment that attracts senior experts, develops future leaders and supports long-term retention.
Cross-Practice Alignment
- Work closely with the Forensic Engineering America’s COO to align shared operating priorities where appropriate.
- Support collaboration across the combined Forensic Accounting and Engineering offering while maintaining clear practice accountability.
- Coordinate on shared clients, reporting expectations, integration activities and cross-practice opportunities.
Executive Leadership and Governance
- Serve as a senior member of the Forensics leadership team.
- Provide regular updates to the Forensics CEO on operational performance, integration progress and key risks.
- Partner with HR, Finance and Legal on operating governance, risk management and organizational effectiveness.
- Model a leadership style that combines commercial urgency, operational discipline and respect for specialist professional expertise.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential:
- Senior operating leadership experience in professional services, forensic accounting, disputes, investigations, consulting, insurance services, expert services or an adjacent talent-led services environment.
- Strong understanding of professional services economics, including utilization, chargeability, leverage, capacity planning and margin management.
- Proven ability to lead global or multi-region operations in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Experience integrating acquisitions, lateral teams or senior expert groups into a larger platform.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable operating models without over-corporatizing entrepreneurial expert-led teams.
- Strong partnership style, with the credibility to work effectively with a CEO, practice leaders, functional heads and a peer COO’s.
- Commercially astute, data-led, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a PE-backed or high-growth environment.
Advantageous:
- Forensic accounting, business interruption, disputes, investigations, litigation support, expert witness or insurance-related professional services.
- Experience in a global or multi-jurisdictional practice environment.
- Exposure to M&A integration, lateral team lift-outs or practice combination activity.
- Experience building talent infrastructure for specialist professional services businesses.
