Description

About Us:
Malach Metal and Machining is a growing metal fabrication and machining company operating across Canada and the United States, supporting OEM contract manufacturing and in-house product lines. We are known for precision, craftsmanship, and strong working relationships.

Our team-focused culture values safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and people who take pride in doing the job right. We provide an environment where skilled tradespeople can continue developing their technical expertise while contributing directly to the quality and success of the products we manufacture.

Working out of our Buffalo location, we are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team who brings strong programming, setup, and machining capabilities and is comfortable working with CNC lathes, CNC mills, and manual mills and lathes. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision work, enjoys solving machining challenges, and is looking for an opportunity to contribute their skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Your Impact:
The CNC Machinist plays an important role in producing high-quality precision components for our customers.

This is a hands-on technical position for an experienced machinist who is comfortable programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment while helping develop practical machining solutions. You will work with CNC lathes, CNC mills, and manual mills and lathes and have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge in programming, tooling, fixtures, and process improvement.

Why This Opportunity Matters:
  • Work on a variety of precision machining projects.
  • Use your programming and machining experience from setup through finished part.
  • Work with CNC lathes, CNC mills, and manual machining equipment.
  • Have input into tooling, fixtures, workholding, and machining methods.
  • Work alongside Engineering, Quality, Production, and other skilled team members.
  • Continue developing your technical machining and programming expertise within a growing manufacturing environment.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Set up and operate manual mills and lathes as required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining requirements.
  • Determine practical machining sequences, tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding methods.
  • Design or modify fixtures, soft jaws, and workholding solutions when required.
  • Complete machine setups, program prove-outs, and first-piece verification.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specifications.
  • Monitor machining processes and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, workholding, dimensional, and machining concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve setup time, cycle time, tooling life, quality, and repeatability.
  • Maintain accurate setup, program, and production information.
  • Follow Malach safety procedures, machine-specific work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other team members.

What You Bring:
  • Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining equipment.
  • Strong CNC lathe and CNC mill experience.
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machining tolerances.
  • Experience with fixture design, workholding, tooling, and machining processes.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good understanding of speeds, feeds, cutting tools, and machining conditions.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • A strong commitment to quality, safety, and producing work you are proud of.

Key Competencies:
  • Technical machining knowledge.
  • Accountability and ownership.
  • Strong organization and time management.
  • Communication and relationship management.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

What Success Looks Like:
  • You can confidently take a machining job from drawing through setup and completed part.
  • Your programs and setups consistently produce accurate, repeatable components.
  • You recognize machining concerns early and make practical adjustments before they become larger quality or production issues.
  • You create safe and effective tooling, fixture, and workholding solutions.
  • You produce quality work while keeping productivity and machining efficiency in mind.
  • You take care of the machines, tooling, fixtures, and measuring equipment you use.
  • Your setup and machining information makes repeat jobs easier and more consistent.
  • You communicate effectively with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and your fellow machinists.
  • You contribute ideas that help improve machining processes and strengthen the department.
  • You are someone the team can rely on for skilled, safe, and quality machining work.

What You Can Expect From Us:
At Malach, we believe that people do their best work when they feel valued, supported, and set up for success. We work hard to create a workplace that reflects that. You can expect:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market standards.
  • Group benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Matching RRSP plan.
  • Opportunities for skills training and professional development.
  • A respectful, team focused culture where your contributions matter.
  • A stable, long standing Manitoba employer committed to long term growth.

All applications are reviewed with care. Only candidates whose qualifications closely match the role will be contacted for the next stage.
