Hourly Rate:

AE-RA-Tuteur / TA-RA-Tutor : $32.84 ou/or $51.75 (Sept. 2025 - Aug. 2026)

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.

These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Nature of Work:

Under the supervision of the centre's director, the Research Coordinator manages the centre's research activities and ensures they run smoothly. The position serves as a liaison between researchers, partners, students, funding agencies, and the University's administrative services, and ensures the consistency, quality, and timely completion of all projects. The position also contributes to the centre's strategic development and outreach
Main responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating research projects: planning, organizing, and monitoring the centre's various projects, ensuring that objectives, budgets, and deadlines are met. Coordinating activities involving multiple partners, institutions, and research teams.

    Support for grant applications: assisting researchers in preparing, drafting, and submitting funding applications, including coordinating major grant applications involving multiple partners and institutions.

    Administrative and financial management: Monitor project budgets; prepare progress reports and financial statements required by funding agencies. Coordinate the centre's day-to-day administrative operations and implement processes that promote effective, compliant, and efficient management of activities.

    Liaison and Communication: Maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners; organize meetings, scientific events, and knowledge-sharing activities. Ensure that the centre’s website, digital platforms, and communication tools are kept up to date, in accordance with institutional standards, accessibility requirements, and applicable policies.

    Team Support: Assist the director in planning and implementing the centre's strategic priorities; provide recommendations regarding the centre's activities, partnerships, communications, and development. Mentor and support research staff and students and contribute to a collaborative and productive work environment.

    Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare various documents (reports, minutes, presentations) and ensure that the centre's monitoring tools are kept up to date. Also manage documentation and ensure that administrative and research files comply with institutional and funding agency requirements.

Qualifications:

The position requires at least three years of experience in coordination within a research centre or a comparable setting, providing the candidate with a solid understanding of the realities of research project management and university administration.

The candidate must be fully bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written, to interact effectively with all partners and draft documents in both languages.

The candidate must have experience in administrative and budgetary management, organizing scientific events, and coordinating activities involving multiple internal and external partners.

The position also requires hands-on experience in developing and preparing major grant proposals, including coordinating the multiple components, timelines, and collaborators required for such large-scale applications.

Finally, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. A very good knowledge of Workday and university administration is required
