Description
The successful candidate will primarily teach majors and non-majors introductory biology lectures and laboratories, and upper-level coursework in their specialization. Standard teaching load is 12 semester hours (fall and spring; summer teaching is possible but not required). Preference may be given to candidates who can also teach human anatomy and physiology and/or clinical microbiology. Additional teaching responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate’s background. Scholarly activity including the development of an active research agenda and mentoring of undergraduate researchers, academic advising of biology majors, and other service to the department, college, and university will also be required for progress toward tenure and promotion.
This position requires an earned PhD in biology or a closely related discipline. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who are ABD, provided degree conferral will occur before the appointment start date. Previous experience teaching at the undergraduate level and mentoring undergraduate research students is highly preferred.

Official transcripts must be sent directly to HR from the issuing school via email or postal mail to be considered official. Transcripts with a designation of “Issued to Student”, or with the student name listed as the recipient will not be considered official.
