About the Client
Our client is a business technology solutions company operating across Kenya and Africa, providing innovative solutions to clients in industries including healthcare, finance, education, hospitality, and real estate, with subsidiaries spanning customer experience/queue management, electronic security, and visitor management systems. They are currently rolling out a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to strengthen and streamline their HR operations.
Role Overview
Our client is looking to hire an HR Intern to play a hands-on role in supporting this HRIS implementation, working closely with the HR team and the system developer to ensure a smooth transition, accurate data, and a well-functioning system going forward. Key Responsibilities
- HRIS Implementation — support the rollout of the new HRIS by liaising directly with the developer/vendor to relay requirements, test features, and troubleshoot issues; assist in preparing, cleaning, and migrating employee data into the new system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality throughout; support user acceptance testing and help train HR staff and employees once live; monitor the system post-launch, escalating technical issues to the developer where necessary
- Employee Records & Renewals — maintain and regularly update a tracker of employee letters, contracts, and renewal dates, flagging upcoming expirations to the HR team in good time; draft and prepare standard HR letters and correspondence (e.g. offer letters, confirmation letters, contract renewals) for review and sign-off
- General HR Support — provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR department, including filing, record-keeping, and data entry; assist with onboarding and offboarding activities for staff; undertake any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the HR department
