We are seeking an Associate Marketing Manager to lead event marketing for the Industry Sciences portfolio of brands. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this role owns end-to-end marketing for both in-person and virtual events, from large annual conferences and live summits to webinars, virtual conferences, and digital event series. You will plan and execute integrated campaigns that build awareness, drive registration and attendance, and deliver a strong attendee experience for professionals across the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, life sciences, and related industries.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end marketing for in-person and virtual events, from campaign planning through post-event recap, including integrated plans across email, paid digital and search, social, print and digital advertising, and marketing partnerships
- Build promotion strategies tailored to each event format, accounting for the different registration cycles, attendance patterns, and engagement goals of live conferences versus webinars and virtual programs
- Drive registration-to-attendance conversion for virtual events through reminder sequences, calendar holds, and on-demand promotion, and drive attendance and on-site engagement for in-person events
- Use AI tools to accelerate campaign planning, copy iteration, audience list research, and performance analysis, maintaining quality and brand standards across all deliverables
- Develop and manage event marketing budgets, tracking spend against plan throughout the event lifecycle
- Set up and manage event registration for both formats, including registration sites, pricing tiers, promo codes, and confirmation and reminder communications
- Partner with the events and digital teams on virtual event platforms, including landing pages, attendee communications, and engagement features such as polls, Q&A, and chat
- Plan and execute experiential marketing elements that enhance the on-site attendee experience at in-person events
- Manage the event app for in-person events, including content setup, attendee communications, and engagement features
- Manage event marketing vendors, including scoping work, overseeing deliverables, and tracking contracts
- Write copy for marketing collateral and brief creative on assets, routing them for stakeholder approval
- Work with sponsors and speakers to coordinate promotional assets and timelines, using client-provided session content within campaigns
- Collaborate with project management, sales, events, editorial, creative, and digital teams to align on goals, timelines, and deliverables
- Track and report weekly on registration, attendance, and campaign performance to the Marketing Director, and deliver post-event reports with sponsor-facing metrics
- Travel to in-person events to support on-site marketing and attendee experience
What Sets You Apart
- 3 or more years of marketing experience with a focus on event or conference marketing, including end-to-end ownership of registration-driven campaigns
- Experience marketing both in-person and virtual events, with a clear understanding of how promotion, timing, and conversion differ between the two
- Experience with event registration platforms, virtual event or webinar platforms such as ON24 or Zoom Webinars, event apps, and marketing automation or email platforms
- Proven ability to meet registration and attendance targets across multiple event formats
- Experience managing event budgets and vendors across multiple concurrent events
- Demonstrated use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity to plan campaigns, develop copy, and analyze performance, with documented workflows that show measurable efficiency or output gains
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent writing and cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to travel to in-person events as needed
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or other B2B industry audiences a plus
AI Capability Expectation
Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they currently use AI in their marketing or event work. This includes:
- Specific tools in active use and how they support campaign planning, copy development, audience research, or registration and attendance analysis
- How AI has changed the speed or quality of your work on event marketing deliverables, particularly across concurrent in-person and virtual campaigns or tight timelines
- How you maintain brand voice, accuracy, and stakeholder alignment when using AI-assisted content in marketing materials
- Bonus: examples of AI-enhanced event marketing workflows you built or documented that improved registration outcomes, attendance rates, or post-event reporting
Compensation Range
