Role Overview
The HR Advisor, Singapore provides practical, responsive and high-quality HR guidance to managers and employees across the Singapore business. Working as part of the APAC HR Advisory team, the role supports the employee lifecycle and helps managers navigate people policies, performance matters, organisational changes and day-to-day employee relations issues in a fair, consistent and commercially aware manner.
The role works closely with the Singapore HR Business Partners and regional centres of expertise. The successful candidate will combine strong local employment knowledge with excellent judgement, attention to detail and a service-oriented approach in a regulated, matrixed and fast-paced environment.
Role Responsibilities
Act as a trusted first point of contact for employees on HR policies, employment terms, workplace practices and general people matters, escalating higher-risk or complex issues appropriately.
Provide timely, practical guidance to people Managers on performance management, probation, conduct, attendance, grievances, flexible working, leave, wellbeing and workplace concerns.
Coordinate key employee lifecycle activities with HR Operations, including onboarding, employment contracts, transfers, promotions, leave arrangements, Long Service Awards and exits, ensuring information is accurate and completed on time.
. Support the delivery of organisational change and restructuring initiatives, including employee consultation processes, documentation, communications and implementation activities
Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support local recruitment activity, candidate experience, pre-employment requirements and effective onboarding.
Work with the Reward, Benefits and Payroll teams to resolve employee queries and support the accurate implementation of compensation, benefits and payroll-related changes.
Identify recurring employee or manager themes and recommend improvements to guidance, manager tools, communications, processes and service delivery.
Support engagement, inclusion, wellbeing, learning and talent initiatives in Singapore and across APAC, helping to ensure effective local implementation.
Use HR data and case insights to identify key themes, risks and required actions to the HR Business Partners, while contributing to regular reporting and governance routines.
Build effective relationships across the Singapore business and APAC HR team, providing reliable follow-through and a consistent employee experience.
Provide support for work pass applications, renewals, amendments, and cancellations when required.
Experience / Competencies
Essential
Practical HR advisory or generalist experience in Singapore, supporting managers and employees across a broad range of employee lifecycle matters.
Sound working knowledge of Singapore employment legislation and employment practices, with the judgement to recognise risk and escalate appropriately.
Ability to interpret and apply policies consistently while considering the facts, business context, employee experience and legal or regulatory risk.
Strong written communication and documentation skills, including the preparation of clear, accurate and appropriately toned employee correspondence.
High attention to detail, strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and confidential matters.
Confidence working with managers and employees across all levels, with a calm, pragmatic, service-oriented and collaborative approach.
Comfort working across a regional matrix and coordinating with specialist HR teams and stakeholders in different locations.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, professionalism and sound judgement.
Desired
Experience within financial services, broking, technology, data, professional services or another regulated environment.
Exposure to organisational change, restructuring, employee consultation, immigration or work visa matters.
Experience using HR systems (preferably Workday), case-management tools and workforce data to support service delivery and decision-making.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Employment Relations or a related discipline; professional HR accreditation is advantageous.
