About Central Semiconductor
Central Semiconductor LLC, an AEM company, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality discrete semiconductor solutions, including surface mount and bare die devices. With a strong reputation for innovation and reliability, Central serves a broad range of industries requiring both advanced technology and continued support for legacy systems. Headquartered in Hauppauge, NY, and founded in 1974, Central maintains its position as a trusted partner by delivering tailored semiconductor solutions for today’s most demanding applications.
Position Summary
Central Semiconductor is hiring a Customer Growth Manager to grow a portfolio of existing customers across distribution, contract manufacturers, and direct end users with a focus on commodity semiconductor products where Central has identified strong market demand.
This is a sales role: you'll use customer, quote, and pricing data to find the best opportunities, then pursue them directly through customer engagement and consistent follow-up. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable analyzing data and engaging customers directly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Grow Existing Customer Accounts
• Own the sales performance of your assigned customer base. Know where you stand against your target, understand which customers and products are creating the gap, and take the actions required to close it
• Grow the business by increasing volume on products customers already purchase, winning new part numbers and programs, and reactivating business that has declined or stopped, with additional selling effort focused on the commodity semiconductor products where Central has identified strong market demand and an opportunity to win share
• Proactively engage customers every day through calls, email, LinkedIn, and other outreach, and build relationships across purchasing, engineering, program management, and supply chain to understand demand, upcoming requirements, target pricing, and competitive alternatives. This is a phone-forward sales role, not an inbound customer service position
Turn Quotes Into Orders
• Manage opportunities from initial request for quote through purchase order, making sure customers get accurate and competitive quotes quickly, and follow up consistently until you have an order or a clear reason why not
• Understand why Central wins or loses on price, availability, lead time, competition, and timing, and share those results so Central can improve its pricing, stocking, and sales strategy
Use Data to Find Growth Opportunities
• Analyze customer purchase history, quote activity, and product-level data to identify where demand is growing, where business has declined, and where Central may be losing share, then turn that analysis into a prioritized plan for where you spend your selling time
• Evaluate the results of pricing, stocking, and bundling actions to understand what is working and where Central should adjust its approach
Manage Your Sales Pipeline and Forecast
• Keep customer, contact, opportunity, and quote information accurate and current in Salesforce, including value, likelihood of closing, next steps, and timing
• Participate in monthly sales forecasts and give sales leadership a clear view of expected business, risks, and the actions you are taking to close any gap
• Participate in, or help establish, a recurring win/loss review process that tracks performance against target and feeds trends back into pricing, stocking, and sales strategy
Work Across the Business to Help Central Win
• Bring Pricing and Supply Chain what they need to help you win, including competitor pricing and target price by customer and product, and customer requirements around availability, lead time, and future demand
• Identify recurring issues that make it harder to win business, such as pricing, availability, quote turnaround, or internal process, estimate what they cost us in lost revenue, and bring leadership a recommended fix
Customer Relationship Support
• Support the team with post-sale order execution when coverage requires it: processing purchase orders, order acknowledgements, changes, cancellations, and returns/RMAs, and resolving delivery or documentation issues
• Support the team with day-to-day account servicing: maintaining accurate system records, assisting with technical and quality inquiries, and cross-covering urgent items outside your primary accounts to protect customer experience during gaps in coverage
• Other duties as assigned
Tools You Will Use
Salesforce is the system of record for opportunities, quotes and accounts. You will also work with quoting and analytics tools through AEM's Commercial Operating System, and with the AS/400 ERP that we are actively modernizing. Comfort with data and a willingness to help build better tools matter more here than experience with any single platform.
Benefits of working with our team:
- This role is full-time, exempt
- Based in Hauppauge, NY, this is an onsite role
- We offer competitive pay based on knowledge, skills, and relevant experience
- Benefits for eligible employees include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K with company match

Requirements

Required
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical ability; able to interpret data and translate it into meaningful business insight

Preferred
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) from a four-year college or university
- Experience with discrete semiconductors/electronic components
- Understanding of the relationship between sales activity, customer demand, operations, supply chain, and pricing
