Job Description Summary

The Product Director - Guarantees will be a senior member of the Core Trade product team, responsible for the delivery of the Guarantees product set, including strategy, product development, portfolio performance, pricing, risk management, controls and governance.
The role will act as a recognised internal and external product lead for Guarantees solutions and trade insight. It will work closely with Sales, Coverage, Operations, Solutions Development & Innovation, Credit, Risk and external trade bodies to deepen market share, simplify client access and ensure the product suite remains relevant, resilient and aligned to risk appetite.

Job Description

As part of Transaction Banking Product, Trade and Working Capital product provides a diverse range of commercial banking solutions to businesses of all sizes, in the UK and internationally, including Trade Finance, Export Finance, Invoice Finance and Asset Finance solutions. These solutions are grounded in an in-depth understanding of clients, a passion for enabling businesses to efficiently manage liquidity, complete payments, mitigate risk, fund trade flows and support growth.

Core Trade, including Documentary Trade and Guarantees, is a critical enabler of the ambition to become the Best Trade Bank for our customers. The product suite is both well-established and undergoing rapid transformation, with growth dependent on technological advancement, industry leadership, effective commercialisation and strong risk and governance disciplines.

We are recruiting a Guarantees Product Director to provide senior product leadership across the Guarantees product portfolio. The role will lead the design and implementation of go-to-market strategy, shape the product roadmap, optimise client outcomes and deliver Lloyds Banking Group business objectives across the short and medium term.

Key accountabilities

•    Lead the go-to-market strategy for Guarantees, identifying growth opportunities and supporting BCB and CIB clients to access products in a simpler, more streamlined way.

•    Own and develop the Guarantees product portfolio and pricing strategy, including continuous improvement of propositions, pricing design, client outcomes, product performance, profit and balance sheet objectives.

•    Manage portfolio levers to deliver agreed volume, income, return and growth targets, while ensuring decisions remain aligned to customer needs, regulatory requirements and Group risk appetite.

•    Build and maintain product governance documentation, process maps, product control frameworks and evidence that products meet or exceed governance standards.

•    Oversee product risk management across operational risk, credit risk, fraud, financial crime, conduct, regulatory and compliance dimensions, ensuring timely identification, escalation and remediation of issues.

•    Manage and maintain credit policies related to Guarantees products, working collaboratively with Credit, Risk and other partners to ensure policies remain clear, proportionate and commercially effective.

•    Sponsor or act as senior product representative on relevant change initiatives, working with Solutions Development & Innovation and technology partners to develop fit-for-purpose digital solutions.

•    Re-engineer existing products to simplify processes, reduce cost to serve, improve service resilience, strengthen controls and expand distribution.

•    Provide senior subject matter expertise to Coverage, Sales, Operations and other stakeholders, including training, deal support and clear articulation of complex product, risk and regulatory themes.

•    Represent Lloyds externally through appropriate trade bodies and industry forums, ensuring the Group is well represented within the wider Trade community.

•    Lead, coach and develop colleagues within the product team, creating an inclusive, high-performing environment and supporting individual development.
