Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Melbourne | Mid-Tier SaaS Company | Executive Leadership
An established and growing Australian SaaS company is seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its technology strategy and support the next phase of business growth.
Reporting to the CEO and working as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CIO will take ownership of the organisation's enterprise technology environment, ensuring technology is secure, scalable and aligned with commercial objectives.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded technology executive who can combine strategy and transformation with practical delivery.
The Role
The CIO will develop and execute the technology strategy and roadmap while providing leadership across enterprise applications, cloud, cyber security, data, architecture and technology operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and deliver the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap.
- Advise the CEO, Executive Team and Board on technology investment, opportunities and risk.
- Lead technology transformation, modernisation and platform improvement initiatives.
- Oversee cyber security, technology risk, governance and business continuity.
- Improve the organisation's enterprise applications, cloud and integration environment.
- Develop the company's approach to data, AI and automation, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and decision-making.
- Manage technology budgets, investment priorities and strategic vendor relationships.
- Lead, develop and build capability within the technology team.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure alignment across the broader SaaS technology environment.
- Identify opportunities to simplify technology and improve operational efficiency and scalability.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused technology leader who understands how technology can enable business growth rather than simply support operations.
You will ideally bring:
- Senior technology leadership experience within a SaaS, software, digital or technology-enabled organisation.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering enterprise technology strategies.
- Strong knowledge across cloud, cyber security, data, architecture and enterprise applications.
- Experience leading technology transformation and modernisation programs.
- Commercial responsibility for technology budgets, investment and vendors.
- Experience building and leading high-performing technology teams.
- Strong executive stakeholder management and communication skills.
- An understanding of the practical application of AI and emerging technologies.
- The ability to communicate technology strategy, investment and risk effectively at Executive and Board level.
You may currently be operating as a CIO, CTO, Technology Director, GM Technology or Head of Technology and be looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a broader technology portfolio.
