Following our continued growth, AtkinsRéalis is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Mechanical Engineers to support a variety of exciting projects, including Hinkley Point C (HPC), Sizewell C (SZC), Small Modular Reactors (SMR), and other nuclear projects.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience in high-profile nuclear infrastructure projects. You’ll be joining a friendly and rapidly growing MEP team within the Nuclear New Build (NNB) business.

Your role

As a Trainee Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting engineering teams in delivering high-quality HVAC and mechanical designs, including but not limited to:

• Assisting in HVAC system design, including basic load calculations.
• Supporting preparation of HVAC schematics, layouts, design calculations.
• Learning and applying relevant industry standards such as CIBSE, ASHRAE, and SMACNA.
• Support 3D model reviews using Navisworks.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
• Software Skills (Preferred):
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Exposure to Revit / Navisworks is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel, POWER BI and engineering calculations.
  • Understanding of fundamental engineering calculations through academic learning.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized university.
• Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
• Basic understanding of HVAC and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in the nuclear/MEP domain.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude and proactive approach to work.
