Production Coordinator
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Production Coordinator to oversee and optimise daily production operations within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead a production team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes while driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee daily production activities to ensure quality standards, production targets, and delivery schedules are achieved.
- Supervise, lead, and motivate the production team to maintain high levels of performance, productivity, and morale.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the safe handling of chemicals.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Monitor production processes, identify issues, and resolve quality, safety, and operational challenges promptly.
- Manage the effective utilisation of raw materials, equipment, and labour to achieve production objectives.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production reports, including output, downtime, performance metrics, and operational variances.
- Conduct daily team briefings to communicate priorities, objectives, and production requirements.
- Monitor production activities, troubleshoot operational issues, and support the team in maintaining efficiency.
- Inspect production processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with departments such as Quality Assurance and Maintenance to streamline processes and resolve challenges.
- Track production performance metrics, analyse trends, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 3 years' experience in a production environment within the industrial manufacturing sector.
- Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry will be advantageous.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a small production team.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and their application within a production environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
