The Role and Impact As a Facilities Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and maintenance of critical mechanical and HVAC systems that support Intel's manufacturing, clean room, and research and development activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems, conducting feasibility studies, and delivering engineering solutions to drive operational excellence. This role directly impacts the efficiency and sustainability of Intel's facilities, enabling innovation and growth across the organization. Business group The Facilities Engineering group is dedicated to maintaining and optimizing Intel's infrastructure systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably to support Intel's core business functions. By managing critical facilities and mechanical systems, this group enables seamless operations and contributes to Intel's mission of delivering world-class products and solutions. Key Responsibilities - Oversee the reliability, maintenance, and operation of mechanical and HVAC systems, including oil-free air systems, environmental compliance exhaust, chilled water plants, boilers, and environmental abatement systems. - Conduct troubleshooting and systematic evaluations to identify and resolve mechanical system issues, ensuring continuous reliability and environmental compliance. - Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment, developing engineering scopes of work for mechanical projects and providing engineering design reviews. - Perform feasibility studies and testing for both new and modified designs, supporting prototype fabrication and documentation preparation. - Collaborate with business unit customers and internal teams to implement engineering solutions that meet operational needs and align with system requirements. - Partner with operations and maintenance service providers to ensure mechanical systems operate within specified limits and meet safety standards. - Develop mechanical systems roadmaps and asset replacement strategies to support facility expansions, renovations, and growth.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. - 4+ years of hands-on experience in facilities mechanical systems management, including HVAC systems, boilers, chilled water plants, and environmental abatement systems. - Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Power BI for data analysis and reporting. - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical system issues with analytical precision. - Experience in developing engineering scope of work documents and conducting design reviews. Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Proven track record of coaching and mentoring peers or team members to drive knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement. - Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools such as Agentic AI for systems analysis and optimization. - Enthusiasm for driving progress and contributing to cutting-edge advancements in mechanical systems engineering.
