Description

At Locus Robotics, we build AI-powered systems and intelligent robots that keep global supply chains running. Our platform combines advanced AI, real-time decision-making, and autonomous robotics to help leading companies improve efficiency, scale operations, and adapt to constant change.

Locus Robotics is a place to do meaningful work with real-world impact, where your ideas move quickly from concept to deployment. We invest in our people, encourage continuous learning, and give you the opportunity to grow your career while building technology that is used every day at global scale.

Own the heartbeat of a world-class robotics company! At Locus Robotics, every product improvement, design update, and manufacturing advancement depends on accurate, well-governed product data.
As our Senior PLM & Configuration Management Specialist, you'll be the driving force behind the processes that enable innovative autonomous robots to move from concept to customer. Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product teams, you'll have a direct impact on how products are built, scaled, and delivered worldwide. If you enjoy bringing order to complexity, influencing business-critical decisions, and serving as a trusted expert across the organization, this is a unique opportunity to make a visible impact in a fast-growing robotics leader.

This is a hybrid role with an expectation of three (3) onsite days per week at our Wilmington, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Own and administer the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
  • Review engineering changes for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate Change Control Board (CCB) activities and drive timely review, approval, and implementation of engineering changes.
  • Monitor ECO cycle times, aging, implementation status, and key performance metrics; develop reporting and dashboards to measure process effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, compliance, and scalability.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the PLM system.
  • Manage user access, licensing, workflows, lifecycle states, and product data governance standards.
  • Maintain the PLM system as the system of record for released engineering product data.
  • Support system upgrades, testing, validation, and enhancements while coordinating with IT and software vendors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PLM-related user and system issues.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and traceability of Bills of Material (BOMs), part revisions, item master records, engineering release documentation, product attributes, and metadata.
  • Conduct regular audits of engineering and product data and drive corrective actions to improve quality, compliance, and configuration control.
  • Maintain part numbering, revision control, and document management standards to support audit readiness and data governance.
  • Support and optimize business processes governing the flow of product data between PLM, ERP, and related enterprise systems.
  • Ensure synchronization and accuracy of BOMs, part revisions, lifecycle states, and item master data across integrated systems.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to enhance integrations involving NetSuite, Jira, reporting platforms, and other enterprise applications.
  • Support testing, validation, and deployment activities related to PLM and business system enhancements.
  • Assess the impact of engineering changes on manufacturing, inventory, procurement, supply chain, production planning, quality, and service operations.
  • Identify implementation risks, downstream operational impacts, and potential business disruptions.
  • Develop and support implementation, disposition, and transition plans for product and process changes.
  • Communicate change impacts, recommendations, and execution plans to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Product Management, Service, and IT teams to ensure successful execution of engineering changes and product data initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between technical and operational teams, facilitating communication, alignment, and issue resolution.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization to support timely decision-making, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting products within a hardware-focused organization that designs, manufactures, and services complex products.
  • Experience in Engineering Change Management, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Configuration Management, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Operations, or related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting PLM systems, including workflow management, product data governance, and engineering change processes.
  • Experience managing and governing Bills of Material (BOMs), item master data, revision control, engineering releases, and related product documentation.
  • Experience supporting PLM-to-ERP integrations and related business processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management, manufacturing operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with PLM platforms such as Empower (Omnify), Arena, Windchill, Agile, Propel, Teamcenter, or similar solutions.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP or comparable enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Experience using Jira or similar project management, issue tracking, and workflow management tools.
  • Experience supporting robotics, warehouse automation, industrial equipment, electronics, medical devices, aerospace, or other complex electromechanical products.
  • Experience in high-growth manufacturing or technology organizations is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS, or other continuous improvement methodologies are a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project coordination skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, build consensus, and drive results without direct management authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive issues to resolution in a fast-paced environment.

The expected base salary range for this role is $135K to $175K annually, based on external market data, plus bonus and equity.
