Description
Personal Lines Client Executive
Department: Personal Lines
Reports To: Jason Trent
Lane: Outbound — New Business & Growth
Supported By: VIP Client Manager Team
The Role
You were hired to win business, and this role is built to protect that. The Client Executive is an outbound, growth-focused seat — your time stays pointed at bringing new clients through the door, sourced from the referral partners you build in the community: realtors, lenders, and centers of influence. Everything else is designed to clear the runway so you can sell.
What You Own
Your lane is new business and the relationships that drive it — and you write all of it.
- Generate new business through referral partners — realtors, lenders, and community relationships you cultivate and grow.
- Write new business for new and existing clients alike, including simple lines (renters, boats, umbrellas) and the coverage gaps your Client Manager team surfaces. They spot it; you write it.
- Build and work your pipeline; keep every new client and quote current in the Pipeline Management tool.
- Prepare, present, and close quotes, and advise on coverage strategy at the point of sale.
- Carry the sale to the finish — secure the signed application and the documentation underwriting needs to bind. The team issues and downloads the policy from there.
- Own and grow your referral-partner relationships.
- Stay accountable for the retention of what you write. Retention counts as production here.
What Your Team Carries
Once a client is written, the service and renewal work moves to your VIP Client Manager Team — by design, not by exception.
- Service requests, policy changes, endorsements, and cancellations — every time, not just when someone is unavailable.
- Policy issuance, required forms, and EPIC documentation.
- Renewals, remarketing, and retention follow-through — with you staying engaged on key-account renewals (the split is still being finalized).
Picking up a service task “just this once” is how the lane erodes. Protecting the handoff protects your production.
Working With Your VIP Client Manager Team
Your support comes from a team, not a person. The old model — one dedicated account manager running personal workflows for one producer — is over. You’re backed by a full team of five, working from shared standards so your clients get the same care no matter who picks up the work.
So a few habits don’t carry over: requests go to the team, not to “your” AM, and you won’t hand-assign tasks to one person. We’ll work the particulars out together in your one-on-ones — but the principle is firm: one team, shared standards, built to free you up to sell.
How You’re Measured
We coach the activity; the number follows.
- New business written — your primary number.
- Pipeline activity — quotes, referral-partner touches, opportunities created.
- Referral network growth.
- Retention — the staying power of what you’ve written.
The Standard
This seat is for people wired to hunt — energized by being in front of people, building relationships, and closing. Bring us the business. We’ll take care of the rest.

Personal Lines Client Manager
Department: Personal Lines
Team: VIP Client Manager Team
Reports To: Andrea Morrison
Supports: PL Client Executives (Producers)
The Role
You are the VIP in the VIP Client Manager Team — the service engine behind every Client Executive and the single point of ownership for everything after the sale. This is a relationship-driven, service-first seat that pairs day-to-day responsiveness with proactive book ownership. You don’t originate new business; your job is to protect the book and keep it healthy so the Client Executive can keep selling.
How the Team Works
• You own an assigned book for tasks and proactive work. Every account has someone accountable for renewals, follow-through, and the proactive touches.
• The phones belong to the team. Inbound calls are answered next-available, so a client gets help now instead of a voicemail and a callback tomorrow.
Ownership where it keeps the book healthy; shared coverage where it keeps clients moving. Producers route work to the team, not to one personal account manager.
What You Own
The work across the policy lifecycle:
When a new client comes in
• Enter and mark the policy “Sold” in EPIC; send a welcome email to start the relationship.
• Forward underwriting memos to the Client Executive and manage follow-up; ensure policies are issued and downloaded into EPIC.
Day to day
• Own an assigned book; you’re accountable for the health of those accounts.
• Answer inbound service next-available and resolve on the first call — changes, endorsements, billing, ID cards, certificates, coverage questions.
• Process and quote changes with carriers; keep EPIC clean and current.
• Handle cancellations and required forms; notify the Client Executive of non-pay cancellations and coordinate next steps.
• Service new lines of business for existing clients once written.
Renewals and retention
• Review renewals 30–45 days out against criteria (e.g., 20%+ premium change); build strategy and remarket when it serves the client.
• Own the majority of renewal work to completion; coordinate with the Client Executive on key accounts.
• Get ahead of at-risk accounts; treat renewals as relationship checkpoints, with annual reviews and life-change check-ins.
Growth you feed, not write
• Spot coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities and hand them to the Client Executive.
Where Your Lane Ends
One line: you don’t originate new business.
• New business — net-new clients, added lines, even renters and boats — is written by the Client Executive, including what you surface.
• Outbound prospecting and referral-partner development belong to the Client Executive.
• One exception: when the Client Executive is unavailable, you provide backup quoting and binding so a deal doesn’t stall.
How You’re Measured
We coach the activity; the number follows.
• Retention — the persistency of your book. Your primary number.
• Service quality — first-call resolution and response time (a team measure as much as an individual one).
• Renewal management — worked ahead and closed on schedule.
• Accuracy & book health — clean EPIC records, low errors.
• Opportunities surfaced — the gaps and referrals you hand to the Client Executive.
The Standard
VIP isn’t just a name — it’s the promise that every client gets handled like they matter. This seat is for people who take pride in service and ownership. You’re the reason clients stay. Own that.
