Tech Lead – Agentic Product Delivery

Artificial Intelligence is transforming how ING operates, serves customers, and empowers employees. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Tech Lead to lead the engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and scaling Agentic Products across ING. 

As Tech Lead for Agentic Product Delivery, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams that transform business opportunities into production-ready AI-powered products. You will drive the technical delivery of agentic solutions, establish engineering standards, and build reusable capabilities that enable ING to rapidly scale Agentic AI across countries, business domains, and customer journeys.

The team 

You will be part of the Agentic Products Delivery organization within Data & Analytics. 

The team is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering end-to-end agentic products that automate, augment, and optimize business processes across ING. We focus on building scalable products rather than one-off solutions, leveraging reusable platforms, common orchestration patterns, and shared AI capabilities. 

Working in a BizDevOps environment, we take end-to-end ownership from ideation through deployment and transition into operations. We collaborate closely with Product Leads, Architects, Data Scientists, Platform Engineering, Security, Risk, and Operations teams to deliver secure, compliant, and high-impact solutions. 

Roles and responsibilities 

As Tech Lead, you will: 

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering Agentic Products from concept to production. 

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for Agentic Product Delivery in alignment with business and technology strategy. 

• Translate business opportunities into scalable product architectures and delivery plans. 

• Drive engineering excellence through modern software engineering, AI engineering, and cloud-native development practices. 

• Establish reusable engineering patterns, frameworks, and delivery standards for agentic product development. 

• Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, compliant, and operationally ready. 

• Collaborate with Product Leads, Architects, Data Scientists, and Platform teams to deliver business outcomes at speed. 

• Guide engineering teams through complex technical decisions and architectural challenges. 

• Drive adoption of shared platforms, orchestration capabilities, and foundational AI building blocks. 

• Coach and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

• Ensure delivery teams effectively balance innovation, quality, risk management, and time-to-market objectives. 

• Contribute to ING's long-term vision for Agentic AI, intelligent automation, and AI-powered banking.

Key Skills & Qualifications 

Leadership & Delivery 

• Proven experience leading software engineering, AI engineering, platform engineering, or product development teams. 

• Strong track record delivering complex enterprise technology products at scale. 

• Experience building and coaching high-performing engineering teams in Agile and DevOps environments. 

• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to align business, technology, and risk stakeholders. 

• Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive execution in fast-evolving technology domains. 

• Strong communication, influencing, and decision-making capabilities. 

Agentic AI & Engineering Expertise 

• Experience designing and delivering AI-powered products, intelligent automation solutions, or agentic systems. 

• Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration patterns, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks. 

• Experience implementing human-in-the-loop, agent supervision, evaluation, monitoring, and governance capabilities. 

• Knowledge of AI risk management, model governance, explainability, and responsible AI principles. 

• Strong understanding of API-first architectures, event-driven systems, microservices, and distributed architectures. 

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) 

Experience with Google Cloud technologies relevant to Agentic AI delivery, including: 

• Vertex AI for model development, tuning, evaluation, deployment, and Agent Builder capabilities. 

• Gemini models and enterprise AI platform services. 

• Agent Development Kit (ADK) and agent orchestration frameworks. 

• Cloud Run and GKE for scalable deployment of AI workloads and agent services. 

• BigQuery for data analytics, agent memory, and retrieval use cases. 

• AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, and vector-enabled databases supporting RAG architectures. 

• Pub/Sub and Eventarc for event-driven agent workflows. 

• Apigee for API management and enterprise integration. 

• Cloud Storage and Document AI for document-centric AI solutions. 

• Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and operational observability for AI workloads. 

• IAM, Security Command Center, and cloud security controls supporting regulated environments. 

Technical Expertise 

• Strong experience with software engineering, cloud-native development, CI/CD, DevOps, and platform engineering practices. 

• Experience building highly available, scalable, and resilient enterprise solutions. 

• Understanding of security-by-design, privacy-by-design, and operational resilience requirements. 

• Experience with containerization, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployments. 

• Familiarity with observability, telemetry, monitoring, and engineering quality frameworks. 

Education & Experience 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. 

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, AI engineering, or technology delivery. 

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience as a Tech Lead, Engineering Lead, IT Lead, or equivalent role. 

• Demonstrated experience delivering cloud-native products within enterprise-scale environments. 

• Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry is advantageous.
