Description
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes loading materials, running production programs, monitoring machine performance, and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality and production standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and prepare the laser cutting machine for production, including selecting tools, checking machine settings, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Inspect and prepare materials for cutting, ensuring they meet quality standards and are correctly loaded onto the machine.
- Operate the laser cutting machine safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading materials and monitoring machine performance.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools and visual checks before submitting them to Quality Control.
- Make adjustments as needed to maintain cutting quality and meet production requirements.
- Work closely with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of laser cutting equipment, machine controls, and production processes.
- Knowledge of sheet metal materials, including different grades, thicknesses, and cutting requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
- Attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate, high-quality parts.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report production or equipment issues.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, including the use of measuring tools and visual inspections to verify part accuracy.
- Understanding of laser safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Ability to work efficiently while meeting production targets and cycle time expectations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Employment Details:
- Starting Wage: Dependent on skills and experience.
- Shift Schedule: Afternoon Shift, Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:00am.
- Full-time employment.
- Benefits after 3-month probationary period.
