Financial Lead

Posting Summary:

Mission Multiplier is looking for candidates for a potential Financial Lead position primarily located in our corporate headquarters in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Maintain accurate project and job-cost accounting, ensuring direct and indirect costs are properly classified, recorded, and allocated to the appropriate contracts, projects, and cost objectives.
• Develop, monitor, and analyze indirect cost pools and allocation bases, including fringe, overhead, and general and administrative (G&A) rates, and compare actual rates to provisional or budgeted rates.
• Support compliance with applicable Government contracting requirements, including FAR Part 31 cost principles, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) when applicable, contract-specific requirements, and established company accounting policies.
• Oversee employee labor charging and timekeeping processes from a financial compliance perspective, including reconciliation of labor costs to payroll, projects, and the general ledger.
• Prepare and review customer invoices for commercial and Government contract billings, including fixed-price, time-and-materials, and cost-reimbursable billing arrangements, as applicable.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, financial analysis, and management reporting to provide leadership with visibility into company and project financial performance.
• Support Government audits, accounting system reviews, incurred cost submissions, indirect rate reviews, and other DCAA, DCMA, customer, or external audit requests, as applicable.
• Establish and maintain effective financial internal controls, accounting procedures, supporting documentation, and records necessary to promote accuracy, consistency, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Serve as a financial advisor to company leadership and program management, providing analysis related to contract performance, project profitability, labor utilization, pricing, financial risk, and other business decisions.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably including experience within the Government contracting industry.
• Working knowledge of Government contract accounting principles, including direct versus indirect costs, indirect rate structures, project accounting, and cost allowability.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 31, DCAA accounting expectations, and CAS requirements, as applicable to Government contractors.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and experience managing or supporting month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with Government contract billing, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Unanet) or similar systems (Deltek Costpoint).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, and ability to independently identify and resolve financial or accounting issues.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to executives, program managers, employees, auditors, and other non-financial stakeholders.
