Description
Direct financial operations, policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements.
Monitor manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, incentives, co-op advertising, and other receivables/payables for accuracy and compliance.
Analyze financial results and operating trends and communicate key findings and recommendations to the CFO and General Manager.
Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, bank accounts, reserves, factory and floor plan payables, and other financial records.
Lead, coach, and develop accounting and office personnel while ensuring accurate records and adherence to accounting procedures.
Coordinate annual audits, physical inventories, tax requirements, and other regulatory compliance activities.
Stay current on tax laws, manufacturer programs, business regulations, and technology changes that impact dealership operations.
Improve data integrity, financial reporting, and effective use of dealership accounting systems.
Partner with department managers to provide financial guidance, reporting, and support for business decisions.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and dealership financial statements.
Proven ability to lead, hire, coach, and manage accounting personnel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare information for management review.
Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and discretion.
