Job Description Summary

Lead the maintenance and facilities organization that keeps our precision machining and aerospace manufacturing lines running at peak performance. You will own the strategy and execution for maintaining and improving complex factory equipment—driving measurable results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). This is a hands-on leadership role for a leader who thrives in a high-standards environment, applies strong operational judgment, and builds a culture of rigor through FLIGHT DECK and precision manufacturing excellence.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own manufacturing equipment readiness Maintain and continuously improve the health, reliability, and performance of internal factory equipment supporting precision machining and aerospace manufacturing. Ensure manufacturing premises are safe, compliant, fully operational, and maintained to standard (manufacturing scope only).
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team Manage a small-to-medium organization of senior technical professionals and skilled contributors across maintenance and toolmaking. Set expectations, coach capability, and build a strong technical bench aligned to business needs.
  • Drive reliability and throughput through best practices Interpret internal and external business and manufacturing challenges, apply current industry trends, and implement best practices to improve equipment uptime, yield, cycle time, and product flow.
  • Make complex operational decisions with strong engineering judgment Navigate complex/ambiguous equipment, manufacturing, and technology issues using high levels of operational judgment. Assess the quality of information, ask the right technical questions, synthesize inputs across functions, and deliver recommendations that improve outcomes beyond established parameters.
  • Lead improvement projects and influence strategy Lead functional initiatives and projects with limited resources and moderate complexity and risk. Influence area strategy, resource prioritization, and policy formulation to strengthen long-term capability in precision manufacturing.
  • Embed FLIGHT DECK and a culture of precision Champion FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and standard work discipline to stabilize processes, surface abnormalities quickly, and accelerate continuous improvement across maintenance and tooling.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited  college or university  +  Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing &/or Facility Management experience (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing &/or Facility Management experience)

Desired Characteristics

  • Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven leadership: Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills; ability to influence across engineering, quality, and operations.
  • Clear communicator: Strong oral and written communication; able to translate complex technical topics into actionable plans for teams and stakeholders.
  • Operational excellence mindset: Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems, prioritize, and deliver results through structured execution and continuous improvement.
  • Precision machining expertise: Experience maintaining and improving complex machining equipment in a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
  • Maintenance strategy depth: Working knowledge and practical application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and predictive maintenance approaches.
  • FLIGHT DECK strength: Strong foundation in FLIGHT DECK Fundamentals, with the ability to model behaviors and build daily operating rigor
