About the role

We are looking for a Manager Safety and Performance to lead the site Safety and Performance function, including health and safety, business improvement and project delivery.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will mature and sustain improvement capability, strengthen safety systems and assurance, govern annual planning and capital delivery, and support performance uplift across the operation.

What you’ll be doing

•Lead implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of safety systems, standards and critical controls.

•Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety leadership, risk management and safe behaviours.

•Monitor safety performance trends, lead targeted interventions and support investigation of significant incidents.

•Coordinate annual planning, integrate inputs across functions and establish governance for delivery of site priorities.

•Oversee delivery of minor capital, infrastructure, operational and rehabilitation projects to scope, schedule, cost and safety requirements.

•Govern the integrated project portfolio and ensure initiatives improve performance, reliability and safety outcomes.

•Maintain and improve the Management Operating System and Integrated Maturity Model, including routines, forums and performance cadences.

•Develop team capability and foster continuous improvement in systems, governance and operational performance.

Required for Success

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

• Demonstrated leadership in safety, performance improvement, projects or operational excellence within a complex industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of critical risk management, safety systems, assurance practices and operational governance.

• Experience leading cross-functional portfolios and translating strategy into delivery plans and measurable outcomes.

•Capability in business improvement methodologies and management operating systems.

•Experience influencing senior stakeholders and using performance and risk data to support sound decisions.

Helpful for Success

•Experience in mining, resources or another large-scale safety-critical operation.

•Experience with capital portfolio governance, project delivery, operational planning or integrated maturity systems.

Where you’ll be working

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Greater Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities. 

The Greater Nammuldi Operations consist of Brockman 2, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression
