DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: General Manager
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre is responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and/or the events by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Directs, manages, and schedules all aspects of operations, including production; engineering; building and grounds; and custodial services.
- Oversees maintenance of the physical plant and systems
- Operates, monitors, repairs, and maintains all facility systems, and equipment
- Oversees and performs basic building repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to, painting, wall repair, carpet removal and replacement, equipment installations, changing light bulbs, debris removal, landscaping, and other general labor activities.
- Oversees maintenance contractors
- Directs and oversees safety training and initiatives for all staff
- Document all safety programs and training, work order, and preventative maintenance utilizing company’s CMMS system
- Directs and supervises Safety inspections, training and record keeping related to OSHA
- Coordinates the operations activities with other building departments and contractors
- Implements facility rules, regulation policies and procedures related to facility operations.
- Anticipates problems and develops appropriate solutions. Investigates, analyzes, and resolves operational problems and complaints
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to Operations team and other departments
- Ensures that Operations department receives pertinent information for most effective use of the facility and staffing
- Assures facility readiness and smooth operation of events
- Responsible for the Master SDS log in the building
- Coordinates Capital Projects budgets (short and long range)
- Coordinates Capital Projects through Design, Bid, Purchase Order, Project Management and Payment Authorization phases
- Responsible for the Master MSDS log in the building
- Serves as Manager on Duty as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and manages subordinate supervisors in any of the following departments: Changeover, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Operations, Production, Engineering, Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, or contractors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree with major in Management, Maintenance Engineering and/or Theatre Arts, preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of Operations, Maintenance, and/or Supervisory experience in a similar facility
- Additional experience may be substituted for education
- Experience in managing Union labor is preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrate a solid general knowledge of all phases of the building, equipment, operations, and maintenance, including the maintenance of mechanical, electrical systems, life safety, and plumbing systems
- Basic understanding of door hardware, locks, door closers, etc.
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
- Ability to effectively supervise staff
- Strong customer service skills
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently
- Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to standard business hours
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
- Prior experience with Work Order or CMMS software
- Prior experience with HRIS and Timekeeping systems preferred
- Willingness to learn and utilize new systems and software
