Summary:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for leading compliance activities at all PacSci’s suppliers.

The candidate must be able to quickly analyze root cause failure modes, develop and use standard RCCA tools to document and eliminate failure modes to prevent reoccurrence. Candidate must be able to influence and motivate internal and external owners needed to own and resolve supplier issues.

The SQE is also expected to be closely involved with internal core functions including Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Development, Strategic Sourcing, Quality Inspection, and Purchasing. Demonstrated skills include:

• Supplier evaluations
• Supplier Risk Assessments
• Supplier Process Audits
• Supplier Process Control/Improvement
• Supplier Feedback
• PPAP’s
• Supplier Monitoring
• Supplier Scorecards and necessary actions
• Supplier Change Requests (VIR)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead new and current Supplier evaluations, owning a compliance pass/fail/improve assessment.
• Generate program quality metrics (PPM, Non-conformances, SCARs, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to perform and teach Corrective Action Problem Solving Process (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.), Six Sigma methodologies and Lean principles.
• Identify “data” needed to make value add decisions for the business.
• Prepare quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations.
• Participate in Failure Review Board activities.
• Support Supplier Development Engineering when vendor hardware/component discrepancies are discovered.
• Attend start of shift meetings in the areas in which the SQE supports; attend in-person daily management meetings and in-person required training sessions
• Responsible for contributing to non-conforming investigations and providing SME knowledge of suppliers’ products and processes.
• Collaborating on Inspection Plans and Reports (IP&R’s).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ experience in a QMS controlled production environment. (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO13485)
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software.
• ASQ certification is a plus.
• Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of PFMEAs, control builds and SPC required.
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process is a plus.
• Hands on use of 8D, Ishikawa templates, 3D, 5-Whys tools.
• Training experience for Operators, QE/CQE/SQE’s.
• Experience in ordnance and use of energetic materials, powders/propellants is a plus.
• Non-degreed applicants can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for possible acceptance based upon related work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently assess Supplier issue(s) and develop action plans proportionate to business impact.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to travel, as needed to solve Supplier issues.
• Ability to work safely in work environments outside of PacSci EMC.

Bonus or Equity

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 100,000-186,000.
