Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking experienced and dynamic a General Accountant to join our team.
The general accountant role is an essential accounting role that focuses on the accounting posting and balance sheet clearance for all Group 1 Automotive stores in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Review all items in Activation que daily – ensure products are active and accounting in correct.
- Review all Cancellations daily
- Perform factory reconciliations at month-end
- Perform floorplan reconciliations at month-end
- Post daily banking activity for all assigned dealerships
- Post various monthly statements/invoices from the vehicle manufacturer
- Post monthly/weekly finance and insurance product statements/invoices
- Post monthly finance reserve statements from lenders
- Assist in maintaining various other balance sheet account schedules
- Posting bank Statements
- Processing PID errors
- Reviewing all Repair Orders with products purchased
- Review the Loaner Que
- Complete reserve statements by monthly due date and process all chargebacks
- Turn in all schedules each month with notes on each line items by scheduled monthly due dates.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Prior dealership accounting experience, a plus.
- Experience using CDK, a plus.
- Must be able to work extended hours at month-end.
