Summary
The Research Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting multiple research projects from inception through completion, ensuring timelines, deliverables, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities are met. This role oversees research-related data collection and management activities, maintains accurate documentation, supports compliance and IRB processes, and assists with data analysis and reporting. Serving as a liaison among researchers, participants, and external partners, the coordinator facilitates collaboration, participant engagement, and dissemination of research findings while tracking project budgets and requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Research Project Coordination
- Coordinates multiple research projects from initiation through completion.
- Develops and maintains project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitors project progress and identify risks, barriers, or delays.
- Schedules and facilitates research team meetings and stakeholder updates.
- Ensures projects adhere to organizational priorities, research protocols, and established methodologies.
Data Collection and Management
- Supports the design and implementation of research studies, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other data collection activities as needed.
- Collects, organizes, validates, and maintain research data and documentation.
- Manages databases and ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security.
- Prepares reports, summaries, and research findings for internal and external audiences.
- Assists with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
- Maintains research documentation, approvals, consent forms, and project records.
- Supports and acts as liaison for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and reporting processes.
- Tracks project budgets, contracts, and grant requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serves as a liaison among researchers, participants, external partners, and others.
- Coordinates participant recruitment, communications, and follow-up activities.
- Fosters collaborative relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Supports dissemination of research findings through presentations, publications, and reports.
Continuous Improvement
- Identifies opportunities to improve research processes, workflows, and methodologies.
- Stays current with emerging research practices, technologies, and industry trends.
- Contributes to organizational learning and evidence-based decision-making.
- Ensures staff is on the same page and are able to complete their tasks as assigned.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Research, Public Health, Social Sciences, Education, Healthcare, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in research coordination, program evaluation, project management, or a related field.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Experience with research design, survey tools, and statistical software.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Experience supporting grant-funded projects.
- Familiarity with IRB processes and research compliance requirements.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
