The Future of Gaming Awaits!

The gaming industry is larger than movies, music, and books combined, with over 3 billion active gamers playing monthly and over 25 million active developers worldwide. Mobile gaming, in particular, is the fastest-growing segment, projected to reach $300 billion by 2025. At Skillz, you have the opportunity to be at the forefront of this exciting industry and shape its future.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Own the Blackout Bingo LiveOps calendar end to end — events, tournaments, promotions and the limited-time-offer slate — as the single accountable operator for the game.
  2. Be accountable for the three ratified KPIs on the surface: incremental NGR per campaign (holdout-audited), event margin (collection vs prizes), and the count of events running at negative margin.
  3. Lead the Blackout Bingo LiveOps line — the Senior Associate today and the Associate bench as it lands — setting standards, developing the team and hiring into it.
  4. Design and configure campaigns directly: segments, entry-fee tiers, prize curves, schedules, eligibility and guardrails, in the admin portal and in CleverTap.
  5. Tune the slate to Blackout Bingo's own economy — entry-fee distribution, session profile, tail composition and marquee rhythm — rather than inheriting a shared calendar.
  6. Hold offer discipline on the surface: 30% standard bonus cap, same-day bonus decay, wallet-balance gating and net-winner exclusions; prevent LTO stacking across Daily, Weekend and Filler offers.
  7. Reserve holdouts at send time and run experiments end to end — hypothesis, segment, control, read — retiring what does not earn its incentive cost.
  8. Deliver the tail live-event tier, zonal identity events and month-long merch events on Blackout Bingo as the economy rebalance rolls out.
  9. Own the Blackout Bingo line in the weekly LiveOps Review and the per-venue scorecard commentary: what moved, why, and what happens next.
  10. Partner with Product on capability and roadmap, Analytics on measurement and independent scoring, Lifecycle CRM on messaging, and Launch GTM on feature adoption.
  11. Contribute to the Game LiveOps operating model alongside Indrani G as the function scales.

Key Competencies:

  1. Owns a number, not a calendar — reasons in event margin and incremental NGR, and can tell the difference between a campaign that worked and one that ran during a good week.
  2. Economy sense — understands that an offer is a cost, and reasons about prize curves, collection versus prizes and net deposits rather than participation counts.
  3. Hands-on operating detail — comfortable in campaign tooling and configuration, and precise about eligibility rules and guardrails. A build-and-run role, not a briefing role.
  4. People leadership — has managed or closely mentored operators, sets standards rather than approving individual campaigns, and can hire and develop a small bench.
  5. Experiment discipline — reserves the holdout before the send, defines the read before launch, and accepts a null result.
  6. Willing to kill a popular event — can retire a well-liked but negative-margin event and explain why to players, Product and their own team.
  7. Peer-level presence — can hold a position against Product and Analytics without a reporting line, and be the accountable voice for the surface in a room of senior stakeholders.
  8. Clear written communication — weekly commentary that says what moved, why, and what happens next.

Experience:

  1. 6–10 years in LiveOps, game operations, product marketing, promotions or growth operations for a consumer mobile product, including full ownership of an events and offers calendar for a live title at scale.
  2. People leadership — has managed at least one or two operators directly, or has a clear and evidenced step-up into a management line (setting standards, reviewing work, developing others).
  3. Real-money gaming, online gambling, fantasy sports, fintech or a mid-core F2P title with a deep in-game economy strongly preferred. Bingo, casual or social-casino category experience is a plus but not required.
  4. Evidence of running a title's economy, not just its calendar: prize curves, entry-fee tiering, bonus rules, and a documented decision to change or retire something on margin grounds.
  5. Ran a measured experimentation practice — control groups or holdouts with a defined read — and can show a result that changed what was shipped, including a null result.
  6. Hands-on with campaign and segmentation tooling (CleverTap, Braze, MoEngage, WebEngage or an internal admin portal) and comfortable pulling their own data in SQL or a BI tool.
  7. Comfortable with a fast weekly cycle, with a function being built around them, and with having their results independently scored by an analytics function.
