IT Business Analyst I
San José, Costa Rica

World Fuel is seeking a motivated and analytical IT Business Analyst I to join our growing technology team. About the Role

As an IT Business Analyst I, you will partner with Business Operations, Information Technology, and external vendors to identify business needs, improve processes, and support the delivery of technology solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, and business performance. This role provides hands-on exposure to business analysis, project delivery, process improvement, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools that help modernize the way we work. You will learn from experienced professionals while making a meaningful impact from day one.

 

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Business Analysis

• Gather, document, and analyze business and functional requirements with key stakeholders.
• Support the evaluation and improvement of business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Translate business needs into actionable technology solutions and enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Project Delivery & Collaboration

• Collaborate with IT, Operations, and external partners to support project planning and execution.
• Assist in identifying project risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in solution validation, functional testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support the implementation and adoption of new systems, features, and process improvements.

Documentation & Communication

• Create and maintain clear, accurate business and project documentation.
• Develop reports, presentations, process flows, and stakeholder communications.
• Maintain requirements and project artifacts within Jira, Confluence, and related tools.

Digital Innovation & AI

• Leverage AI-powered tools and digital technologies to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and contribute ideas that support innovation.
• Utilize Microsoft 365, Jira, and Confluence to enable collaboration and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, technology support, or a related role.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other Agile project management tools preferred.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies, process mapping, or business process improvement is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
