Director, Supply Chain Management - Large Parcel and Big & Bulky

Position Summary...

Large Parcel and Big & Bulky Home Delivery is one of the fastest-growing areas within Walmart and Sam’s Club’s transportation network. Reporting to the Vice President of Parcel Transportation, this leader will define and execute the strategy to scale large parcel and big & bulky delivery capabilities while delivering a best-in-class customer and member experience.

This role is responsible for expanding delivery solutions for oversized products such as furniture, appliances, and outdoor equipment, while driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, and service innovation. The Director will lead carrier and delivery provider partnerships, build new internal capabilities, and work cross-functionally across Supply Chain, Merchandising, Technology, Stores, and Delivery teams to support continued growth and transformation.

The Parcel Transportation team is transforming how Walmart and Sam’s Club deliver products to customers and members. As eCommerce continues to grow, the team is building scalable solutions that blend operational excellence, innovative technology, and strategic partnerships to create seamless delivery experiences across every order type.

This team sits at the center of some of the company’s most important growth initiatives, partnering across the enterprise to improve customer satisfaction, expand delivery capabilities, and unlock new opportunities for scale. From developing next-generation delivery models to leveraging AI and advanced supply chain technology, the team is shaping the future of home delivery at Walmart and Sam’s Club.

What you'll do...

Lead Growth Strategy for Large Parcel & Big & Bulky Delivery

• Develop and scale the end-to-end strategy for large parcel and big & bulky eCommerce delivery.
• Enable significant business growth by expanding capabilities, delivery options, and service offerings.
• Partner with Merchandising and Supply Chain teams to grow assortment and improve delivery accessibility for customers and members.
• Design delivery experiences that balance convenience, reliability, and operational feasibility.

Drive Perfect Order Performance

• Own and improve delivery quality across sourcing, fulfillment, transportation, and last-mile execution.
• Reduce defects through process improvements, technology enhancements, and operational accountability.
• Monitor and improve key performance metrics including on-time delivery, damage rates, returns, fulfillment costs, and customer satisfaction.

Scale First-Party Shipping Capabilities

• Define and execute the strategy for first-party (1P) shipping across large parcel and big & bulky products.
• Optimize inventory placement, packaging solutions, routing strategies, and fulfillment networks.
• Strengthen carrier and third-party logistics partnerships to improve service levels and delivery performance.
• Align delivery capabilities with merchant and customer needs to support business growth.

Improve Operational Efficiency & Cost to Serve

• Identify opportunities to reduce cost while maintaining or improving service quality.
• Optimize delivery methods across shipping, delivery, and pickup channels.
• Increase productivity through process improvements and operational standardization.
• Leverage technology and AI-enabled solutions to improve visibility, issue resolution, and network performance.

Lead Enterprise Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Technology, Merchandising, Transportation, and Enterprise Supply Chain leaders to align priorities and roadmaps.
• Leverage Walmart’s logistics, fulfillment, and technology ecosystem to unlock scale and competitive advantage.
• Serve as a strategic connector across the organization to ensure delivery experiences are integrated into broader Walmart and Sam’s Club growth strategies.
• Influence senior leaders and stakeholders to drive alignment and execution across complex initiatives.

What You'll Bring...

• Experience leading large-scale transportation, supply chain, logistics, or eCommerce operations.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing growth strategies within complex, high-volume environments.
• Strong understanding of parcel transportation, home delivery, fulfillment operations, and last-mile logistics.
• Experience managing carrier, 3PL, and external partner relationships to drive performance and results.
• Proven ability to improve operational metrics, customer experience, and cost efficiency simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Supply Chain, Technology, Product, and Merchandising teams.
• Ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead through ambiguity and transformation.
• Passion for innovation and leveraging technology, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve operational performance and customer experience.
• Track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results in rapidly growing businesses.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related
area OR 7 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.
3 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
