The Systems Administrator maintains and supports the organization's cloud, on-premises, and hybrid IT infrastructure, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backups, and related systems. The role also provides infrastructure-level support for Microsoft 365 and supports day-to-day network and security operations in coordination with other IT team members.The Systems Administrator serves as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, supports technology projects, implementations, and migrations, and maintains accurate technical documentation and knowledge resources.

Job Description
Essential Functions
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid identity services.
- Maintain and support servers, virtualization platforms, storage, and related on-premises infrastructure.
- Support day-to-day network and security operations in coordination with the Network and Security Analyst, including network health monitoring and troubleshooting of switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VLANs, VPNs, and connectivity; assist with more complex network and security implementations as needed.
- Monitor system health, performance, capacity, backups, logs, and critical infrastructure services.
- Perform patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and lifecycle maintenance.
- Manage backup operations and support documented recovery and disaster recovery testing.
- Provide infrastructure-level support for Microsoft 365 in coordination with the Microsoft 365 Architect.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex server, identity, cloud, network, and infrastructure issues.
- Use HaloITSM to document and resolve incidents and service requests and to maintain useful knowledge articles.
- Participate in infrastructure implementations, migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
- Maintain system configurations, procedures, diagrams, runbooks, and change documentation.
- Work with internal IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve issues and improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technology and network support at organizational locations as needed and perform other related duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Relevant technical training, certifications, and professional experience may be considered in place of a four-year degree.
Experience
- Two or more years of experience in systems administration, cloud administration, network administration, or a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, networking, backups, and hybrid infrastructure.
Knowledge / Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid identity.
- Experience supporting network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VLANs, VPNs, and TCP/IP.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery, monitoring, patching, and infrastructure security practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex technical issues.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with IT teams and vendors, and manage changing priorities.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to other organizational locations as needed.
