Description

The City of Newport Beach is seeking one full-time (non-exempt) Administrative Assistant to join the City Manager's Office and provide administrative support to the City Council. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational abilities, strong communication and customer service skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Position Highlights:
- Works closely with the City Manager's Office team in coordinating the administrative operations of the department and assisting the City Council.
- Maintains calendars, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and coordinates departmental activities.
- Interacts with elected and appointed officials, department directors, and provides administrative support to City committees.
- Coordinates department personnel-related matters including payroll.
- Works collaboratively with other departments.
- Strong executive support and communication abilities
- Highly organized
- Experienced in working in a fast-changing environment
- This position may work a 5/40 or 9/80 schedule

Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Additional coursework or training in office administration, business administration or a related field desirable.
License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record may be required.
