Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as the Production Scheduler at our York location. In this role, you’ll be scheduling production and ensuring on-time finished product delivery. The Production Scheduler reviews metal needs, orders and tracks delivery status from internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Schedules production for various departments throughout the plant.
- Reviews, modifies, and updates production schedules daily based on customer inquiries, collaboration with leadership, and availability of material.
- Coordinates and communicates with other locations
- Corresponds with customer service on schedule changes and production challenges.
- Coordinates with shipping regarding load completions and carrier pickups.
- Reviews daily Interplant Transfer Reports to determine priority of material needed from extrusion suppliers.
- Reviews inventory levels to ensure raw material is available to meet production schedule. Responsible for inventory control.
- Tracks material from extrusion suppliers daily and communicates issues to keep production schedules.
- Works with department leads to review production issues and make schedule adjustments as necessary to meet customer requirements.
- Works with ERP system to determine capacity requirements and work with customer service to ensure accurate customer delivery acknowledgements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling and monitoring in a manufacturing environment is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling and monitoring in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel experience required.
- Knowledge of ERP Systems.
- Experience with inventory control is required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working in manufacturing and/or warehouse environment required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling multi-constraint production flows.
- Experience with lean manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to influence.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box.
- A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment with short lead times.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills.
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments.
- Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner.
- Must possess strong written communication skills. Position requires extensive communication via email to inside sales and operations regarding orders and order status.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to share information in a positive manner and produce strong customer relations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to develop solutions to customer concerns for on time delivery with little or no supervision.
- Analytical skills required to look at schedules and determine best approach to manage production and on time delivery.
- Leverages AI tools to optimize workflows and drive daily productivity.
- Regular attendance required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.
