- Full time Continuing position*. Located on the Camden Campus at the Sydney School of Veterinary Science
- Opportunity to provide essential technical professional support to clinical staff
- Base Salary HEO6 (38 hrs p/w) $116,507 - $125,602 + 17% superannuation
*continuing contigent on the continuation of external funding
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Technical Officer, the Technical Officer will provide essential technical professional support to clinical staff, researchers and students using the pathology laboratory at University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden (UVTHC), undertakes routine clinical pathology and microbiology assays in a range of animal species in accordance with established procedures/standards and supports clinical teaching activities.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- a TAFE or other relevant laboratory qualification
- demonstrated skills in veterinary/human diagnostic clinical pathology (haematology/biochemistry) and/or at least one other diagnostic discipline such as microbiology
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
- demonstrated understanding of accreditation systems (NATA) – desirable but not essential
- strong computer skills, including storing research data appropriately in databases and/or statistical analysis programs, and extracting relevant reporting and/or analysis.

About you
