Global Security Operations Center Manager

The GSOC Manager will lead and operate Lila Sciences' Global Security Operations Center, owning the physical security technology stack and day-to-day security and intelligence operations for all sites globally. This role is responsible for enterprise access control management, Emergency Notification System (ENS) management, radio system management, visitor management, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems, and acts as the central point of coordination for incident response and first-responder engagement. The GSOC Manager will build and maintain the SOPs, policies, and plans that govern GSOC operations, and will work in close, daily partnership with all Lila employees, the Senior Director - Protective Security, all facilities' security officers, Facilities, EHS, IT, contractors, building engineers, guests, and other third parties to keep Lila Sciences' people and sites safe and secure.

What You'll Be Building

• Manage day-to-day GSOC operations across all Lila Sciences sites, ensuring consistent 24/7 coverage and clear on-call/escalation procedures.
• Manage the enterprise access control system, including badge creation, access provisioning and deprovisioning, periodic access reviews, and compliance requirements.
• Manage enterprise visitor management processes, including visitor registration, screening, and temporary access issuance.
• Monitor and manage the enterprise video surveillance system, including active surveillance, camera health, footage review, and retention practices.
• Monitor and manage the intrusion detection system (IDS) and associated alarms.
• Serve as the primary interface with police, fire, EMS, and other first responders during security or safety incidents.
• Lead initial incident response coordination and triage for security-related events, escalating appropriately to leadership.
• Monitor 24/7 security operations and incident reporting across all sites.
• Write, maintain, and continuously improve GSOC SOPs, security policies, and emergency response plans.
• Monitor threat intelligence feeds and author threat intelligence reports and briefings for stakeholders.
• Track and monitor the locations and travel of executives and other traveling staff to support duty-of-care and travel-risk decisions.
• Partner closely with onsite security officers, Facilities, EHS, IT, contractors, building engineers, guests, and third parties to coordinate security activity across all sites.
• Maintain incident logs, GSOC metrics, and reporting for leadership review.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, emergency management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years (L5) to 8+ years (L6) of experience in corporate/physical security operations, a GSOC/SOC environment, law enforcement, or military service.
• Hands-on experience with access control systems and video management systems.
• Experience monitoring and managing intrusion detection/alarm systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading incident response coordination and interfacing with first responders.
• Experience ensuring compliance requirements (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2, NFPA, etc.).
• Experience managing Emergency Notification Systems and radio systems.
• Strong track record writing and maintaining SOPs, security policies, and emergency plans.
• Ability to work onsite full-time (40 hours/week) at 5 Alewife Park, Cambridge, MA.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Facilities, EHS, IT, contractors, and building engineers.
• Professional demeanor and sound judgment when interfacing with executives, guests, and external stakeholders.
• Experience preparing and delivering written and verbal intelligence and incident briefings, presentations, and reports.

• Experience supporting life sciences, biotech, or R&D/lab environments.
• Threat intelligence analysis and report-writing experience.
• Executive protection or travel risk management experience, including monitoring traveling executives and staff.
• Technological expertise with integrated networked security systems.
• Relevant certifications such as CPP or PSP.
• Experience managing or coordinating third-party security contracts and systems integrators.
• Familiarity with enterprise EHS and facilities coordination practices.
• Crisis management or business continuity planning experience.
