Description
We’re looking for a Software Developer Senior Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll act as a key technical contributor helping us design, build, and scale the platforms providing Clearing Services for some of the largest clearing houses of the world.
You’ll fit right in if you enjoy diving into complex technical challenges, collaborating across teams, and delivering solutions that are both scalable and impactful. This role blends hands-on development with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence architecture, guide best practices, and help drive engineering excellence across the team.
We’re looking for a software developer who enjoys getting up to speed quickly in large, existing codebases. You’ll join a team working with a client system nearing production and play a key role in stabilizing, refining, and preparing it for a successful launch.
What You'll Do
Act as a subject matter expert in software development, helping guide technical decisions and establish best practices
Design, build, and deliver scalable, resilient applications using modern backend and frontend technologies
Contribute to architecture discussions and help shape systems that are secure, performant, and future-ready
Champion quality through clean code, testing, and continuous integration and delivery practices
Support and mentor teammates, contributing to a strong and collaborative engineering culture
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
5 to 10 years of software development experience with strong backend expertise in Java
Experience with modern frontend technologies such as JavaScript and React
Experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Familiarity with building distributed systems and working with APIs or microservices
Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional, globally distributed teams
Nice to Have
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (K8s)
Exposure to or experience building AI-powered features or data-driven applications
Familiarity with event-driven architectures or streaming technologies
Experience in fintech, capital markets, or other regulated industries

The base pay range for this role is $104,000 - $148,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
