We are seeking a hands-on Technical and Data Architect to join the Central Data & Analytics team supporting the Commercial domain. This is a builder role focused on owning and driving the end-to-end technical design and data architecture for our commercial data analytics products. You will be responsible for designing scalable architectures, building and leading Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and translating business needs into robust technical solutions.
What will you do in this role
- Own end-to-end technical design for data products supporting commercial use cases — from source ingestion through consumption layer
- Design scalable data architecture patterns (batch/streaming, lakehouse, data mesh) aligned to enterprise standards
- Build and lead Proof of Concepts to validate new tools, patterns, and platform capabilities
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture, data models, and integration designs
- Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to ensure designs are implementable and scalable
- Establish and enforce architecture best practices, reusable patterns, and technical documentation
- Evaluate emerging tools and platform capabilities; make build/buy/adopt recommendations
- Provide technical mentorship to engineering teams during implementation
What should you have
Primary Skills : Databricks, AWS, Data Architecture & Data analytics
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
Required
- 8–12+ years in data engineering/architecture roles, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end solution design
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, workflows, cluster/job optimization)
- Strong AWS experience (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, IAM, networking fundamentals)
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark) for data engineering and prototyping
- Experience with modern data architecture patterns: lakehouse, medallion architecture, data mesh
- Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and DevOps practices for data platforms
- Working knowledge of BI/analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI) and API-based integration patterns
- Track record of hands-on PoC delivery, not just architecture diagrams
- Understanding of data governance, security, and access control frameworks
Preferred
- Experience in pharma/life sciences commercial data (sales, market access, patient data) a plus, not required
- Prior experience architecting for a central/shared-services data platform team
- Certifications: Databricks Certified Data Engineer/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect
