Assistant Bar Manager

About the Role:

Reporting to the Bar Manager, you will support daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional service standards, operational excellence, and memorable guest experiences.

As an Assistant Bar Manager, you will play a key role in leading, coaching, and motivating the bar team while overseeing service execution, beverage quality, and guest satisfaction. You will act as an ambassador of Four Seasons’ culture of genuine heart, ensuring every interaction reflects the highest standards of luxury hospitality and personalized service.

What You Will Do:

• Support the Bar Manager in daily bar operations, ensuring seamless service and adherence to Four Seasons standards.
• Lead the bar team during service, providing guidance, coaching, and hands-on support.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of cocktails and other beverages, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes.
• Build strong relationships with guests, recognizing preferences, anticipating needs, and creating personalized experiences.
• Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction, proactively resolving issues and responding to feedback.
• Work closely with the Restaurant, Culinary, and other operational teams to ensure smooth communication and service coordination.
• Assist with team scheduling, attendance monitoring, task delegation, and daily briefings.
• Support the onboarding, training, and development of bar employees, strengthening beverage knowledge, technical skills, and service standards.
• Contribute to cocktail menu development and seasonal beverage offerings in collaboration with the Bar Manager.
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and mise en place throughout the bar and service areas.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP requirements, health and safety regulations, responsible alcohol service practices, and Four Seasons operating procedures.
• Assist with beverage ordering, inventory checks, stock rotation, and wastage control.
• Support the Bar Manager in monitoring beverage costs, achieving financial goals, and maximizing revenue through thoughtful recommendations and upselling.
• Ensure accurate handling of guest checks, billing procedures, cash transactions, and POS operations.
• Take responsibility for bar operations in the absence of the Bar Manager when required.

What You Bring:

• Previous management or supervisory experience in luxury hotel bars, cocktail bars, or high-end hospitality environments; international experience is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Italian.
• Legal right to work in Italy.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and luxury beverage service standards.
• Hands-on bartending skills, with a focus on consistency, presentation, and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for guest service.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask, remain composed under pressure, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of beverage cost control, inventory management, and bar financial performance.
• Passion for hospitality, teamwork, and creating memorable guest experiences.
