This position supports The Mercy Touch® by promoting the Mercy Foundation to internal and external interests including donors/prospects – many of which may also be employees, retirees, volunteers, patients or family members. The intent is to help donors meet their charitable goals and generate revenue for hospital needs, priorities and long-term success.Job Description
Job Duties
- Develop and implement marketing plans and activities that support the strategic plans and annual goals of Mercy Medical Center and the Mercy Foundation.
- Design/coordinate creative collateral for multi-media use from concept to delivery. Examples include print fundraising appeals and newsletters, hospital signage, website and social media content, video, email communications, photography and special events. This includes leading collaborative work with internal and external resources throughout the project life cycle to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet expectations and quality standards. Requires working with vendors as needed on print projects, mailings and other outsourced marketing support.
- Represent the Foundation in a professional manner and work in partnership with the Foundation team and hospital departments to schedule pictures, interviews, video shoots, special events, etc. with donors, staff, providers and others as needed.
- Work cooperatively with Mercy Medical Center’s Marketing Department where support is needed, i.e. website and social media placement and metrics, inhouse printing, mailing lists, etc.
- Follow applicable branding guidelines/messages and the consistent use of all Mercy logo marks to position the organization positively.
- Support events from planning to day-of execution including setup/logistics, stakeholder management, program development, promotion and coordination of support staff as necessary.
- Foster a culture of philanthropy throughout Mercy Medical Center and externally by promoting Grateful Patient Giving.
- Utilize data to inform marketing strategies including audience segmentation.
- Maintain applicable results-based analytics and report on fundraising/marketing-related activities.
- Assist with other tasks, team functions and additional duties as needed/assigned.
- Participate in planning, team-building and professional development activities as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality as it relates to job functions.
- Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of graphic design and demonstrated application of creative skills.
- Proficiency with graphic design software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with photography and video equipment, video production and editing software.
- Excellent teamwork, internal/external customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project/time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage a large workload, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of website maintenance, social media content creation, placement and metrics.
- Prior experience with nonprofits and/or fundraising, event planning and database operations helpful.
- Understanding and appreciation for the mission of Mercy Medical Center and the Mercy Foundation.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of work history in marketing and graphic design or similar position involving project management and creative experience required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
