Position Overview
The Managing Director will be responsible for growth, client impact, solution development, talent, and operating performance. This executive will advise healthcare leaders on transformation, performance improvement, physician enterprise and ambulatory strategy, revenue cycle, working capital, digital transformation, and AI-enabled operational improvement. The role will also connect Hilco capabilities across capital, valuation, real estate, transactions, data, and technology to deliver integrated client solutions.
Responsibilities
Practice & Commercial Leadership
- Originate, shape, negotiate, and close complex advisory engagements.
- Build executive relationships with healthcare leaders, boards, investors, lenders, and private equity sponsors.
- Lead cross-Hilco pursuits, partnerships, referral channels, and industry thought leadership.
- Define and execute the practice strategy, annual operating plan, market positioning, and growth priorities.
- Own practice economics, including revenue, profitability, investment, pipeline, and resource deployment.
Client & Solution Leadership
- Act as executive sponsor for strategic engagements and remain accountable for client value, quality, and trust.
- Advise C-suite executives and boards on strategy, transformation, operating performance, physician enterprise, ambulatory growth, revenue cycle, turnaround, transactions, and integration.
- Translate complex issues into clear decisions, executable priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- Build and commercialize repeatable healthcare offerings and reusable intellectual property.
AI, Data & Analytics
- Develop secure, explainable, outcome-focused AI and analytics solutions for healthcare clients.
- Focus use cases on revenue cycle, labor productivity, working capital, ambulatory performance, and enterprise performance management.
- Partner with technology, data, security, privacy, legal, compliance, and risk leaders to establish effective governance.
- Ensure AI-supported findings are evidence-based, appropriately reviewed, and tied to client action and value.
Talent, Platform & Governance
- Build an accountable, collaborative culture and develop future practice leaders.
- Evaluate build, partner, and acquisition opportunities that strengthen the healthcare platform.
- Maintain high standards for integrity, confidentiality, compliance, quality, and risk management.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of progressively responsible healthcare leadership, consulting, operating, investing, or advisory experience.
- Deep expertise in one or more healthcare sectors, such as health systems, physician enterprises, ambulatory care, payers, healthcare services, or sponsor-backed companies.
- Proven ability to originate, sell, and lead complex executive-level engagements.
- Experience advising CEOs, CFOs, COOs, boards, investors, or private equity sponsors.
- Strong financial, operational, commercial, and organizational judgment.
- Demonstrated success leading senior professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred
- MBA, MHA, MPH, or another relevant advanced degree.
- Experience in consulting, restructuring, transaction advisory, healthcare operations, or healthcare investing.
- Leadership of transformation, performance improvement, turnaround, or integration programs.
- Experience with healthcare analytics, digital transformation, AI-enabled solutions, practice building, or strategic acquisitions.
