About Rad Hires
Rad Hires connects high-performing talent with ambitious teams that move fast and build things that matter. We partner with lean, client-driven organizations to find people who own outcomes, raise the bar, and make a real difference — not just fill a seat.
About the Company
Our client is a product design and branding studio working across brand, product, and digital projects for clients around the world, with studios spread across several international markets.
About the Role
You'll be joining the studio itself, not the client — and the immediate reason for this hire is a newly signed account that needs a dedicated account manager from day one. That account is where you'll start, but it's the beginning of a bigger remit: you'll become part of the studio's North American team, working across its existing and future client base in the region as it grows. Early on, you're the new client's main point of contact — the person who knows the account inside out and keeps it healthy — working closely with the Tech Producer to keep timelines, budgets, and priorities aligned. You're not a coordinator passing messages between the client and the team — you make decisions independently where you should, and pull in discipline leads where you shouldn't. Success here looks like a strong client relationship from day one, and the account management chops to take on more as the North American book of business grows.
What You'll Do
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Own the day-to-day client relationship — you're the first call, but you make sure the whole team engages directly with clients on their own areas rather than routing everything through you
- Hold regular 1:1s with key clients and internal discipline leads
- Build a deep understanding of each client's business, competitive landscape, and long-term goals
- Spot risks, opportunities, and shifting priorities early, and keep clients and the team informed ahead of them
- Keep the Client Service Director updated, and know when to escalate
Project & Commercial Ownership
- Run multiple projects at once, protecting both delivery quality and profitability
- Own weekly status reports, client-facing documentation, proposals, and SOWs, looping in the Tech Producer as needed
- Own briefing, budget tracking, and timing plans in partnership with the Tech Producer
- Make sure every meeting has an owner, a clear agenda, and a contact report
- Track budgets weekly so overruns are never a surprise, and raise invoices in line with the SOW
- Lead timely conversations with clients about contract renewals
Growth
- Understand each client's business objectives well enough to spot where the studio can add value
- Track stakeholders and decision-makers across the account as they change
- Keep opportunity and forecast tracking accurate and up to date
- Support account planning with the Client Service Director, bringing in Strategy, Creative, and Technology leads
- Present work and pitch new ideas to clients with confidence
Internal Operations
- Set up new projects correctly (folders, project management tools, comms channels) so the team can onboard fast
- Send a weekly update covering status, budget health, and risk across your accounts
- Flag resourcing concerns early, and manage non-technical freelancer scope, budget, and day-to-day communication
- Contribute to project retrospectives and carry client feedback forward
- Maintain consistently high standards in client communication and reporting
What We Look For
Must-have:
- 3–5 years' experience in account management, ideally within a brand, design, creative, or product agency
- A track record of building trusted client relationships, managing multiple projects at once, and growing accounts
- Comfortable owning client proposals — strategic recommendations, commercials, and delivery details
- Experience managing project budgets, SOWs, and change requests
- Confident presenting in person and virtually, including in new business pitches
- Experience with CRM/pipeline tracking (e.g., PipeDrive) and project management tools (e.g., Scoro, ClickUp)
- Comfortable orchestrating a multidisciplinary internal team and managing stakeholders up to C-suite
- Willing and able to travel occasionally for client workshops
Signals We Love
- Relationship-first: clients see you as a knowledgeable partner, not just a contact
- An active listener who asks the right questions and connects the answers
- Proactive — always thinking a step ahead
- Commercially minded, with a real feel for pipeline health
- Process-oriented — your accounts don't run on memory or heroics
- Calm under pressure across multiple simultaneous projects
- A confident, clear communicator at every level of seniority
- Excited about building something — comfortable growing into a bigger remit as the North American team scales
This Role Is Not For
- Someone who wants to sit between the client and the team as a pure coordinator
- Someone who needs heavy oversight to manage competing priorities
- Someone looking for a role that stays exactly the same size as it is today
Logistics
- Location: Remote, based in the US or Canada, working Eastern Time hours
- Travel: Occasional, for client workshops
- Compensation: Competitive fixed monthly pay, in USD
- Reports to: Client Service Director
- Works as a peer to the Tech Producers on all active delivery
- Target start date: September 7 at the latest
