The Accounting Senior Professional is responsible for leading complex accounting processes, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. This role involves reviewing and reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and guiding less-experienced team members on technical accounting matters. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to handle assignments with high autonomy and judgment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform complex reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across multiple financial systems.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, processes, and documentation to support audits and reporting accuracy.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and forecast accuracy.
• Identify process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and control.
• Participate in internal and external audits, preparing required documentation and addressing findings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting within the insurance or financial services industry is advantageous.
• Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills is required.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and automated accounting processes is desirable.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress toward CPA is preferred.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent is an advantage but not mandatory.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
• Financial reporting and compliance expertise.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards.
• Advanced reconciliation and variance analysis skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting guidelines.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
